For the Fuel & Convenience Store Industry
FOOT TRAFFIC REPORT FOR THE FUEL & CONVENIENCE STORE INDUSTRY Q1 2017 A NEW ERA FOR THE CONVENIENCE STORE As the convenience store industry adapts to meet customer needs and grow market share, location intelligence is becoming increasingly critical to understanding consumer habits and behaviors. GasBuddy and Cuebiq teamed up in the first quarter of 2017 to issue the first foot traffic report for the fuel and convenience store industry. Highlights: GasBuddy and Cuebiq examined 23.5 million consumer trips to the pumps and convenience stores between January 1 and March 31. In Q1, more than half of GasBuddies visited locations within six miles of their homes or places of employment, giving retailers the opportunity to leverage their greatest resource—knowing their customer base—to localize and personalize their product selection. Weekdays between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. were highly-trafficked hours in Q1. Convenience stores are poised to lure business away from QSRs and grocery stores now that customers can eat quality meals at the same place and time they choose to fill up their tanks. With filling a gas tank clocking in at an efficient 2-3 minutes, the 73% of GasBuddies who spent more than five minutes at locations in Q1 demonstrated that consumers are likely willing to spend some time in store before or after visiting the pumps. QUARTERLY FOOT TRAFFIC REPORT 1 GasBuddy examined nearly 23.5 million consumer trips to gas Indiana-based gas station and stations and c-stores in Q1 2017 convenience store chain Ricker’s enjoys a loyal GasBuddy customer Which fuel brands captured the base—the nearly 50-station brand highest ratio of footfall per station? captured more than 4x the industry average footfall per location in Q1. -

SABF Newsletter
PROMOTING the GAME of BRIDGE in SOUTH AFRICA THE BRIDGE Edition 13 Publisher: The S A B F December 2020 www.sabf.co.za Special Year-End Edition Ed.: Stephen Rosenberg [email protected] FROM THE PRESIDENT This year has been a very hard and sad year for our community. Many of us have lost family or friends, not always as a result of COVID-19, and our hearts go out to them and their families. And still this accursed plague hangs over us. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. With the announcement of the development of successful vaccines and their distribution in Europe and America over the coming James Grant months we will surely see a reduction in and eventually the eradication of this pandemic. The next few months are going to be the most trying for us, because we are letting our guard down not only as individuals but as a society. We have grown tired of the sanctions imposed on us and are now taking more risks. We are travelling more, we are visiting friends and families. Fewer people are wearing masks in public places, social distancing is no longer the norm, and we have convinced ourselves that perhaps after all we are immune to this infection. We only have to follow what is now happening in Europe to see the folly in this outlook. Personally, I would like to think that COVID-19 has forced us re-evaluate what is really important in our lives and those around us and that when we finally emerge from this trauma that has paralysed us as individuals and as a nation we will do so as a society kinder and less selfish than before, if only for a little time. -

Monday/Tuesday 4-5.02.2019
Thanks to our commentators: Mike Bell Heather Dhondy David Gold Chris Jagger Ben Norton Tom Paske Nicola Smith Yvonne Wiseman Monday/Tuesday 4-5.02.2019 Bridge England Sim Pairs ~ Monday/Tuesday 4-5.02.2019 Thank you for taking part in this Bridge England Simultaneous Pairs. I hope you have enjoyed the event and will take pride in having supported our international teams. 2019 is a year which will see our Junior Teams (U16, U21, U26 Women, U26) play in the European Championship. The EBU provides funding for these teams and this event will help with the funding. Other important areas, such as development and teaching also require support and that means that the international budgets are never as large as we would wish. No international players receive personal payment from the EBU and they have each committed time and energy to representing their country at the bridge table. I very much hope you have enjoyed the hands and the expert commentary, which has been supplied by leading internationals, many of whom will be playing for our country this year. I also hope that you will continue to support this event and encourage your club to continue to participate in the future.
