Fushigi Yûgi: The Mysterious Play, Vol. 3: Disciple by Yuu Watase It was a precursor to the modern isekai genre, with two teen girls, Miaka and Yui, discovering a book in a library that transported them to a magical version of China. The girls became the Priestesses of the Gods Fushigi Yugi and Seiryu. The manga 's second half referred to two prior Priestesses, whose stories would be told another day. They also ended up writing a one-shot story, which their mother, as Volume 1: The Mysterious Play laid dying, stated she loved but wished she could read the end of it. It also proves that after 30 years, Watase has grown into a mature creative genius. The eight-year-old protagonist Suzuno's father is the only one who knows the truth about the mysterious tome known as the Universe of the Four Gods, a magical book that transports chosen girls to an alternate Volume 1: The Mysterious Play of China where they inherit the position of Priestess. In order to save his daughter's life when an earthquake brings their house down on them, Suzuno's father tricks her into teleporting into the mysterious world, where she immediately stumbles into a horrific world of danger. To explain the twists beyond that -- especially what transpires between the book's third and fourth chapters -- is to rob the Fushigi Yugi of its power. No panels are wasted in this manga. Every single line of dialogue, every image, every action is utilized masterfully by Watase to further the story, develop the characters and bring this world to life. Perhaps this is why Watase selects to throw so many unexpected curveballs at the audience in such rapid succession. This story is Fushigi Yugi, but there is definite method to the madness here. Despite having to develop two different worlds, Fushigi Yugi manages to illustrate both Japan on the eve of World War II and the expansive desert to the west of this magical China. The art in this manga is also superb. It's remarkable how Watase manages to illustrate so many distinct-looking characters, especially how she illustrates characters of different ethnicities. This region Volume 1: The Mysterious Play fantasy-China exists on the border of the Middle East, which means this manga has a lot of Middle Eastern-inspired culture integrated with its Chinese iconography. Watase's art has always been great, but this manga illustrates everything from moments of epic fantasy to personal solitude to mass destruction, bringing it all to life clearly and succinctly. Fushigi Yugi development happens quickly, but readers will understand and empathize with the leads right away. Suzuno is immediately sympathetic Volume 1: The Mysterious Play the from the beginning. Another stand-out character is Neiran, a profoundly cynical woman with the power to transform into a tiger at will. While this first volume doesn't offer a complete portrait of either character, it leaves the reader wanting to know what becomes of them, as well as understand what drives them. Despite the eight-year-old protagonist, this story starts on a very mature note. There are half-eaten bodies, multiple instances of Volume 1: The Mysterious Play and implications of abuse. What's most truly mature about it, however, is that it presents an uncompromised viewpoint on the sheer vulnerability of children in a violent world. Lifelong lover of comics, anime, and weird films. Seldom, it is moved beyond the scope of an individual science and the challenges from other fields of research are incorporated. Research on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) is attributed interdisciplinarity and, thus, is a case in point. Therefore, this thesis aims to integrate both engineering, psychosocial, and socio-economic research streams. By doing so, the goal is to reveal and to identify underlying questions which are tacitly assumed by either research field, but require explicit contemplation and elaboration. The engineering community is currently focusing on collaboration and cooperation (CoCo) as it enables humans and robots to operate together in heterogenous teams. Human-robot teamwork, in turn, is promising to enable the integration of both a human’s flexibility, dexterity, and creative problem solving with robotic strength, precision, reliability, and efficiency. In contrast, economic considerations evolve around elaborations on technological unemployment and further macroeconomic implications. To unite these streams, this thesis conducts a scoping literature review. Through it, the fundamental design considerations necessary to achieve CoCo are laid out, while pointing towards the currently most promising research direction in each of the design aspects. Sen on tarkoitus myös antaa ohjeita kirjastonhoitajille mangan valinnassa kirjastoihin. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana toimii Oulun ammattikorkeakoulu. Opinnäytetyön pääasiallinen tehtävä on kertoa mangan pitkästä historiasta maailmalla ja Suo- messa, sekä ohjeistaa kirjastonhoitajia mangan valinnassa kirjastojen kokoelmiin. Tästä syystä opinnäytetyöhön on liitetty kirjastojen käytettäviksi mangasuositus-listat lapsille, nuorille ja nuorille aikuisille, sekä ohjeet mangan valintaan. Tämän lisäksi sen tarkoituksena on selvittää ihmisille, mitä manga tarkalleen ottaen on ja mitä syitä löytyy sen suosiolle ja ihmisten kiinostukselle siihen. Opinnäytetyön materiaalina toimivat aiemmin suoritetut tutkimukset, artikkelit ja videot. Lähteinä toimivat sekä kirjat, että Internet. Opinnäytetyö sisältää aiheestaan johtuen paljon vieraskielisiä sanoja ja termistöä, minkä vuoksi opinnäytetyöhön on liitetty

The overall aim is to investigate and analyze what the term Manga means in a library and information science context. The concept of Manga has different meanings depending on whether we start from a Japanese or a Swedish context. Manga is integrated in the Japanese society while Manga often is associated with youth culture or a separate genre in Sweden. The first issue is to examine how the Manga literature lending statistics looks in Swedish public libraries in the years 2000-2011, which is illustrated through text and graphics. A dramatic increase in Manga literature lending statistics occurred 2004 which culminated in the year of 2009. From this statistics the study also investigates which genres are represented in the Swedish public libraries. This diversity of genres and subgenres in Manga literature is sharply reduced to a few genres in Swedish public libraries where romance, comedy, action, fantasy and adventure are dominant.
