Dear Parishioners, The angel spoke and said to the women, “There is no need for you to be afraid. I know that you are look- ing for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here for He is risen, as He said He would.” Filled with awe and great joy, the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tell the disciples. (Matthew 28:5-6.8). The Great Solemnity of Easter moves us to proclaim the great joy, as did the women of Jerusalem. “Christ is Risen Truly He is Risen.” Our spiritual journey to the event of the Empty Tomb began on Ash Wednesday. During the Season of Lent we were called to deepen our relationship with the Lord through acts of penance and charity. Our week- ly and faithful participation at Mass strengthened our resolve to continue the journey with the Lord, as it would lead to the solemn days of Holy Week and Easter Triduum. It is our faithfulness to this spiritual journey that allows us to appreciate anew-and all the more-the joy of Easter Day. May this joy continue throughout the Easter Season and, indeed, throughout the year! Fr. Jay, Fr. Edgar, Deacons Joe Campbell, Michael Martini, Michael Meyer, Ed Ciszewski, Mark van Duynhoven
