WORLD’S BIGGEST HI-5

 150 Nos. of Volunteers, Faculty members of Rotract Club of B. S. Abdur Rahman University participated in the “World’s Biggest HI-5” event which is a part of flag march leading towards a Guinness approved “Hand Formation” held on 5th October 2013.

 The event was organized by rotary district 3230 at YMCA .

 The theme of event was “We are the CHANGE”. Over 8000 young students participated in the event which is the world’s biggest Hi5.

FLOOD RELIEF AND MEDICAL CAMP

 120 Nos. of Crescent Blood Donors Volunteers, Faculty members of B. S. Abdur Rahman University actively involved in Relief Operations were mainly conducted around Urapakkam, and during 8 November 2015 to 14 November 2015  Countless food packets, bed sheets and various other necessities were distributed by CBD volunteers. Towing of submerged vehicles to the university was also done by the volunteers.

 Nearly 100 medical camps were conducted at the flood affected areas by CBD along with UNWO. Nearly 2000 persons were given the medical assistance.

Food Distribution COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR SUB INSPECTORS

 Faculty Training Academy of B.S.Abdur Rahman University undertook the responsibility of training the Sub-Inspector Cadets of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy in ICT tools.  1033 cadets were trained over a span of 3 months. The training took place from 22 August 2016 to 21 November 2016 spanning nearly 240 hours of work in the lab.  The training programme is being conducted at B.S.Abdur Rahman University, .

BIKE RALLY TO PROMOTE BLOOD DONATION AND TREE PLANTING

 65 Nos.of Crescent Blood Donors Volunteers of B. S. Abdur Rahman University conducted a bike rally to promote blood donation and tree planting. A 50 km ride in the busy streets of Vandalur by three major bikers group in Chennai on 18.02.2016

CYCLOTHON (TOUR DE CRESCENT)

 BSAU Alumni Association conducted cyclothon as a name of Tour De Crescent for A GO GREEN INTIATIVE on April 24, 2016.  The Start Point ( junction, Chennai) at 5:00 a.m. and also at the End Point (BSAUniversity, Vandalur) at 8:00 a.m. on that day.  More than 350 enthusiasts participated in the Cyclothon event.

FLOOD RELIEF FOR KERALA

 The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) of our institution together collected different household materials for sending it to the flood affected areas of Kerala.  Contributed various items immensely. Items like foods stuffs, stationeries, new dresses, medicines, etc together consist of more than 360kg totally worth around 1.5 lakhs were sent to Kerala on 20th of August 2017 evening by Chennai – Mangalore mail.  35 Nos.of NSS Volunteers and 15 YRC Volunteers, Vice Chancellor, Registrar ,Deputy Registrar, Faculty members and Coordinator Dr. N.Hajara Beevi of B. ARASANKALANI LAKE CLEANING

 As a part of our NSS regular activity, 35 students from our NSS UNIT I and UNIT II in association with Environmental Foundation of India (EFI) on Saturday, 28.07.2018 cleaned some part of Arasankalani Lake  The main motivation of this programme is to create awareness about the welfare of our environment. Mr.Pavithran from EFI gave a brief introduction about the connectivity of different lakes in Chennai.

 Open House& Exhibition” held on 30th & 31st March 2014 in B.S.Abdur Rahman University.  During the two days, our campus was very lively with so many exciting and interesting project models, exhibits and innovative displays which attracted more than 2200 visitors which includes 25 Schools in and around Chennai.  The Open House & Exhibition had showcased the Technological developments and Advancements in the fields of Science, Engineering and Technology

WORLD LARGEST RECYCLE LOGO

 The largest human recycling logo consists of 1,726 people, achieved at the event held at B.S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of science and technology, Chennai on 19 March 2018 and later awarded with Guinness World Record.  As part of the concern towards environment and societal benefit and to create an awareness among the general public, the students of the university came together in achieving this milestone. Note:  The final logo measured 45ft by 75ft.
