This month, we welcome Autumn with its cooler temperatures and changing of the leaves. One of the biggest changes we are looking forward is being able to open our building on Monday, October 19th for limited in person programs. Your safety is our first priority and we encourage you to call us with any questions about our reopening guidelines. We will not be serving coffee or congregate lunches until further notice. All activities with be limited to 10 people or less and preregistration is required for every program. Masks are required for all participants. As we begin this first phase of reopening, our hours will be reduced to implement sanitizing procedures. New Senior Center hours starting Monday, October 19th will be: Monday/Tuesday/Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm. Flu Vaccine Clinic Marc’s Pharmacy will be administering high-dose flu vaccines on Thursday, October 22nd from 10:00am-1:00pm. Appointments are required. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled time and don’t forget your Medicare card! Silver Sneakers We will offer Silver Sneakers exercise classes Mondays at 10:30 am and Fridays at 12:00 pm. Class size is limited to 10 people or less. Preregistration is required. Participants should arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to class and bring their own water bottle. Computer Lab & Library Lending On Mondays and Fridays at noon we will take Virtual & Phone Bingo reservations for our (socially distanced) computer Come join the games on Mondays at 12:00 pm and lab and book lending library. My name is Joanne. I graduated from Carroll University with a degree in music, which was super helpful for libraries. Not so much. Rachel: (laughs) Joanne: And then went to UW-Milwaukee to get my masters in library science, and I’ve been working in public libraries ever since. I’ve always had a love of music since I've been in a child. My mom is actually a church organist, and so I think that’s where I get it from. Rachel: Wow, yeah. Joanne: I used to play piano—I did about 10 years and then quit. (laughs) So, I might be able to read some sheet music but probably not very well.

    The 48 Stars That People Like Less Than Anne Hathaway By Nate Jones Spend a few minutes reading blog comments, and you might assume that Anne Hathaway’s approval rating falls somewhere between that of Boko Haram and paper cuts — but you'd actually be completely wrong. According to E-Poll likability data we factored into Vulture's Most Valuable Stars list, the braying hordes of Hathaway haters are merely a very vocal minority. The numbers say that most people actually like her. Even more shocking? Who they like her more than. In calculating their E-Score Celebrity rankings, E-Poll asked people how much they like a particular celebrity on a six-point scale, which ranged from "like a lot" to "dislike a lot." The resulting Likability percentage is the number of respondents who indicated they either "like" Anne Hathaway or "like Anne Hathaway a lot." Hathaway's 2014 Likability percentage was 67 percent — up from 66 percent in 2013 — which doesn't quite make her Will Smith (85 percent), Sandra Bullock (83 percent), Jennifer Lawrence (76 percent), or even Liam Neeson (79 percent), but it does put her well above plenty of stars whose appeal has never been so furiously impugned on Twitter. Why? Well, why not? Anne Hathaway is a talented actress and seemingly a nice person. The objections to her boiled down to two main points: She tries too hard, and she's overexposed. But she's been absent from the screen since 2012'sLes Misérables, so it's hard to call her overexposed now. And trying too hard isn't the worst thing in the world, especially when you consider the alternative.

The TRUST presides over such treasures as Mary Arden’s House, WITTEMORE HOUSE Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, and the home in which the play- 1526 New Hampshire Avenue wright was born. Entertainment journalism has changed as well, with all of us taking a much harder look at how societal issues influence Hollywood, from workplace equality and diversity to coverage of political events, the impact of social media and U.S.-China rela- tions. Your Press Club has thrived amid all this. Participation is way up, with more Chris Palmeri than 600 dues-paying members. The National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards have grown and changed as well. Tonight we’re in a ballroom in the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, but in 2008 the awards took place in the Steve Allen Theater, the Press Club’s old home in East Hollywood. That building has since been torn down. Our first event in 2008 featured a cocktail party with no host and only 111 entries in the competition.
