Starting Secondary School in September 2019 Starting secondary school in September 2019 This flyer serves as a reminder for admission to state schools to: apply by the deadline, 31 October 2018, a note of other key dates and also provides additional school data that was not available when the secondary booklet was published. What are the important dates in the admission process? Date Event 5 June – 20 July 2018 Contact the CSSE if you missed the registration period. June - October 2018 Secondary school open evenings & open days (refer to council/school websites) 1 Sept 2018 – 31 Applications can be submitted online or on paper during this period. October 2018 Closing date for parents to register for their child to take either the Sports or 1 September 2018 Performing Arts aptitude tests at The Eastwood Academy. Parents must complete the Academy Supplementation Information Form (SIF). 10 September (PA) & Sports (S) and Performing Arts (PA) aptitude tests at The Eastwood Academy 17 September (S) for those that submitted the SIF. 22 September 2018 Selection test (11+) for those registered with the CSSE (www.csse.org.uk). 12 October 2018 Those pupils who took the Sports or Performing Arts aptitude test are advised of the outcome by The Eastwood Academy. 15 October 2018 Those pupils who took the selection test (11+) are advised of the outcome by CSSE. 31 October 2018 Closing date for Supplementary Information Forms (SIFs) to be returned to St Bernard’s High School and St Thomas More High School. 31 October 2018 Admissions round for transfer to year 7 closes. Applications after this date will be ‘late’. National offer day 1 March 2018 All pupils that applied receive notification from the Council of the school they have been allocated.
