April 21, 2020 COVID-19 Pulse Dashboard–Peer Groups Update Chicago Metro Area Audience: Hospital: Infection Prevention, Nurse Managers, CEO/Executives, CMIOs, Pharmacy Managers, Clinical Informatics/Clinical Optimization Specialists Clinic: Assigned Staff Epic Dashboard, COVID-19 Pulse, is available for a select group of targeted leaders to monitor COVID-19 trends and real-time data. Trending data is automatically updated every four hours. Monitor key metrics related to COVID-19 that includes information about: • The percentage of visits during which a presumptive positive COVID-19 case was identified. • Communicable disease screening compliance to ensure staff is following proper protocol. • The number of presumptive positive COVID-19 cases in the last week. • The number of COVID-19 tests ordered and the number of tests with pending results. • System capacity, including the number of available ICU beds, non-ICU beds, and available ventilators In addition to showing COVID-19 data specific to our organization, the dashboard also includes aggregated benchmarking data from our peers in the Epic community. This can help users track up-to-date information about COVID-19 tests and presumptive positive cases outside of our organization. New Peer Groups Additional benchmarks for metro area peer groups have been added for Chicago Metro Area. Details: ▪ Revenue Locations that fit within a 120-mile radius will be included. ▪ If a Revenue Location falls within that radius for more than one large city, they will be included with the nearest city Click the Pencil next to the Peer Group. Search for new Peer Groups using the magnify glass. Select a Peer Group as appropriate and Accept. NOTE: Review information in each component as interested. Peer Benchmark Peer benchmarks allow you to compare results with national standards, other Epic organizations, and specific peer groups. The following peer groups are available: • Academic. Organizations that are affiliated with residency or other medical education programs. • Ambulatory Only. Organizations that have only outpatient facilities and do not admit patients. • Cancer Center. Available starting in Epic 2018. Applies to organizations that have an NCI-Designated Cancer Center. • Catholic. Organizations that promote or foster the values of the Catholic health ministry. Not-for-profit Catholic health systems, sponsors, or free-standing Catholic entities. • Chicago Metro Area Organizations in the Chicago Metro Area region of the U.S. • Community. Organizations that are not for profit, non-academic, and not specialized. • Critical Access (Location Only). Applies only to Resolute Hospital Billing locations. This facility type applies to rural hospitals that are commonly certified as Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) by Medicare and receive cost-based reimbursement. • Epic. All Epic community members who participate in benchmarking. • FQHC. Applies to organizations that are certified as a Federally Qualified Health Center. FQHCs are safety-net providers that primarily provide outpatient services. • Pediatric. Organizations that primarily (50% or more) serve pediatric patients. • Milwaukee Metro Area Organizations in the Milwaukee Metro Area region of the U.S. • Minneapolis Metro Area Organizations in the Minneapolis Metro Area region of the U.S. • Region (based on U.S. census regions). Midwest. Organizations in the midwestern region of the U.S. (based on the primary state of the organization). Northeast. Organizations in the northeastern region of the U.S. (based on the primary state of the organization). South. Organizations in the southern region of the U.S. (based on the primary state of the organization). West. Organizations in the western region of the U.S. (based on the primary state of the organization). • Safety Net. Organizations that provide a significant amount of care to low income and uninsured populations, regardless of these patients' ability to pay for this treatment. • Small Practice. Applies only to Resolute Professional Billing service areas.
