Monitoring and management • New Veeam Morning Coffee Dashboard & Report The Veeam Morning Coffee Dashboard™ gives at-a-glance, real-time virtual infrastructure status, including physical hosts, VMs, storage and the overall resource utilization. The Morning Coffee Report delivers the full picture of important metrics such as VM density, as well as compute and storage overprovisioning—all within a single page report. • Proactive monitoring of resource over-allocation Unique Veeam metrics such as memory pressure, disk pressure and CPU pressure proactively track resource over- commitment, helping users catch it before it becomes a performance issue. • Performance analysis and correlation monitors Unique Analysis Monitors gather multiple performance metrics and correlated data from vSphere and Hyper-V, providing rich, contextual information, and even recommended resolutions, embedded in alert descriptions to help you find the root cause faster. • Enhanced Monitoring of Veeam Backup & Replication Veeam Backup & Replication™ customers get the same capabilities for both vSphere and Hyper-V environments, including: Monitoring of all infrastructure objects used by Veeam Backup & Replication (proxy servers, repository servers, backup servers, WAN accelerators, etc.) grouped by and by type (replication, backup copy, etc.). New reports and monitoring for Veeam Backup & Replication: •• Backup Infrastructure Assessment report –Proactively analyzes your environment to catch possible issues with backup. •• Job Configuration Change Tracking –Tracks changes in the backup server job configuration and includes a log of who performed the change. •• Delegated Restore Permissions Overview report –Displays a convenient summary of restore permissions and the corresponding roles configured in the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager. •• Additional monitoring services including: -- RPO Monitor – Proactively generates alerts if RPO targets are in danger of falling outside of preconfigured ranges. -- Job transport mode failover – Generates an alert when a backup job fails to use the recommended and more robust VM disk backup methods. -- Backup version monitor – Tracks the versions of Veeam Backup infrastructure components such as proxies and repositories. Reporting • Capacity planning Veeam MP’s capacity planning and oversized/undersized VM reports help you examine trends, perform “what-if” modeling and proactively reallocate virtual resources to manage the growth of your virtual infrastructure. •• New capacity planning for hybrid cloud Veeam MP’s capacity planning for both Microsoft Azure and VMware vCloud Air services analyzes first analyzes your on-premises workloads and then recommends the IaaS requirements to run those workloads in your chosen cloud. •• New capacity planning for Veeam Backup & Replication for Hyper-V Veeam MP now offers the same capacity planning for Veeam Backup Repositories for Hyper-V that it has for vSphere. This report predicts when free space on the backup repository will be exhausted. • Analysis reports Veeam MP reports are provided out of the box, including: •• Oversized/undersized VMs Identifies VMs that are oversized (to reclaim computing power for other VMs) or undersized (to identify where more resources should be allocated) based on historical performance. These reports help you optimize resource allocation and run a more efficient virtual data center. •• Configuration tracking and alert correlation report Configuration tracking shows what has changed in the virtual environment, allowing correlation with resource or capacity issues. Provides detailed tracking of configuration properties for all vSphere or Hyper-V objects—Clusters, Datastores, Network Switches, Hosts and VMs. PRODUCT OVERVIEW

•• Host Security Profile for vSphere This report tracks vSphere host security configuration , and if there is a change in a security setting, it provides details such as who made the change and when it was made. •• Datastore space and performance usage heatmaps The storage usage heatmap provides an instant visual representation of which VMs are the biggest and which are the fastest growing, with drill down capabilities to find out why. And the performance usage heatmap displays VM IOPS and latency per data store, identifying the busiest VMs in your virtual environment. •• Detailed snapshot and checkpoint tracking See at-a-glance which VMs have snapshots or checkpoints in the real-time heatmap view. Then drill into the detailed report, revealing the entire snapshot tree with individual snapshot timestamps and comments to quickly determine aging, owner and justification before you remove it or take other appropriate actions. •• Storage performance profile This report tracks latency and IOPS, matching the highest latency to the time of the highest IOPS to give a more accurate picture of the real-world performance of your storage and help you optimize your Hyper-V or vSphere environment. •• Top troublemakers This report shows the VMs that are generating the most alerts and prioritizes the top issues for immediate attention. •• Idle and switched-off VMs These two reports find idle VMs that are wasting resources and powered-off VMs that are occupying valuable storage space. • Veeam Report Library for System Center Veeam MP offers a rich library of report templates which can be customized to create detailed reports with extended functionality not found in Microsoft System Center. Best Practice Architecture • Fault-tolerant collection architecture (vSphere only) The Veeam collection system features a fault-tolerant, distributed architecture with high availability and load balancing to support even the largest vSphere deployments. Any failure of Veeam collection components can be accommodated without having an impact on the delivery of monitoring data to System Center. Automatic collection re-targeting ensures continuous delivery of monitoring data. And if vCenter fails, Veeam MP will automatically fail-over and reconfigure to collect data directly from vSphere Hosts. • Veeam Collector auto-deployment for vSphere Multiple Veeam Collectors can be deployed for failover and high scalability in vSphere environments. Veeam Collector deployment can be completely automated through Management Server Resource Pools in System Center 2012, allowing fast deployment to even the largest enterprise environments. • Hardware monitoring Veeam MP gathers hardware data agentlessly, directly from vSphere hosts by leveraging the CIM-SMASH/Server Management architecture, which is based on the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) industry standard for hardware management. This allows granular, highly scalable and vendor-independent monitoring for vSphere Host hardware components. For Hyper-V, Veeam MP does not deploy agents, but it uses the already- deployed System Center Operations Manager agent that is in place.
