Working in the field, there are always great stories to be told. So, when I heard about a new black family, I couldn’t wait to tell you about your gifts at work. Fledgling Carnaby’s cockatoo, JimJam, was found trapped under a fallen tree, with no sign of his parents. Although able to fly, he is too young to look after himself in the wild, so the Department of Parks and Wildlife placed him in the care of the staff at Perth’s Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre (BCCC) - where he met Chasey.
