Which is worse, a non-fan or a non-response?

Former Communications Minister Stephen Conroy was a known Doctor Who fan, so we him about The Show directly only to have a less than illuminating response (‘Politician IQ shocker!’ in The Wall of Lies 134, January 2012).

We wrote to current Minister Malcolm Turnbull, only to receive a rapid, elo- quent and confronting response; “I’ve never watched Doctor Who.”

The choice between a communications minister who doesn’t watch the show and one who O u N t doesn’t respond may seem trivial to the non- No ow Doctor Who fan, but that’s just it -- if you don’t ! Turnbull: not cool enough for Doctor Who. get it, you just don’t get it.

The club was formed by Brian Alford and his wife Elaine at the Black Hole Book Store on the first of June 1980. They based it on SASTrEK (the South Australian Star Trek Club), using its constitution as a tem- plate, much as Parsec (“the Aussie Star Wars Appreciation Society, Inc.”) was in turn based upon us in 1997. Two artefacts date back to those days; the constitution (incorporated on the 7th of September 1982) and the first Newsletter (front page pic- tured bottom right, page three opposite). The constitution gives the aims of the club as follow: To enable all persons interested in Doctor Who to meet as a united group and to provide persons interested in such with accurate information. The first The Pluto system, 26 June 2015. (NASA/Johns newsletter gives details for the next meeting (“13 Hopkins University/Southwest Research Institute). ABC have confirmed they will not play the remaining Dalek stories, and will edit The and the Doctor Who themed yearbook Five Doctors for transmission. This is to comply with the terms of the 2003 agree- ment, made when the BBC and the Nation Estate were disputing their use. Chameleon Factor 69, July 1995. Television in Adelaide at the moment certainly has the Science Fiction fan watching more scheduled pro- grammes during this ratings period that usually.

With programmes like “X-Files”, Seaquest DSV”, “Time Trax”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”, classic “Star Trek”, and of course “Earth 2”.

Incidentally the day that “Earth 2” screened here in Adelaide, production was cancelled in The States.

Apparently all the above shows are in the high ratings and the station networks are going to be doing their usual irritating strategy of taking it all off at the end to the ratings period.

I like most “Doctor Who” fans, get right into all forms of Science Fiction and like to give all programmes a look see.

Although “Time Trax” is a soapy type show it does have some interesting story-lines.

“Star Trek” and all it’s other incarnations are all watch- able and although I have seen them before, I quite often tune it just to watch the better episodes. It saves “X-Files” is definitely bearable, and I’m not talking turning on the video recorder, and finding the tape. about the male lead either. The story lines are excel- lent, and sometimes even scary. I find the programme “Seaquest DSV” is of course not everyone’s cup of very easy to follow and considering the basis for the java, but it is really the only thing on Sunday programme is one that I am most interested in. I find evenings, so I find myself watching it. Four in ten “The Truth is out There”. episodes are worth watching, others are just bear- able. “Earth 2” is well with watching. The fact that it’s so nice to see Clancy Brown (Kurgan from ”Highlander” in a television series gives it that added plus. If you haven’t given it a gander, then do so. The setting isn’t much to look at, but the characters are well devel- Currently on tV oped and the aliens ae interesting to say the least/

X- Files Yes, TV here in Adelaide isn’t too bad that the star trek moment, it’s just a pity it doesn’t stay like it all the year st;tnG round. st:Ds9 time traX Some shows to watch out for are “Highlander: The seaquest DsV Series”, “Precinct 2” (although I’ve heard it’s nothing to rave about), of course “Star Trek: Voyager” (the earth 2 episodes that I have seen show it to be excellent), of course once again “Babylon 5” if you’re not already watching it.
