  • The Role of Folk Phraseology in the Enrichment of Literary Work (Case: Mitrush Kuteli)
1st International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference 2018 UDC: 81'373.7 THE ROLE OF FOLK PHRASEOLOGY IN THE ENRICHMENT OF LITERARY WORK (CASE: MITRUSH KUTELI) Rovena Vata The Academy of Albanological Studies, Tirana, Albania E-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT itrush Kuteli is one of the most prominent authors of Albanian literature known as a multidimensional man, but his strongest connection has been with the field of paper works. He is often evaluated by two important achievements, which distinguish him among the authors of M Albanian literature of all time. Mitrush Kuteli is the creator of the Albanian modern prose and one of the most famous authors of Albanian modernity. The Kutelian narrative as a narrative process carries the constant presence of the narrator's voice, where Albanian reality appears to be broken, seen from many sides, sometimes close to the real and sometimes close to fantasy. In his narratives, the author emerges in the second plan, leaving room for the folk language, for the use of the language of folklore and especially of the folk phraseology. The folk phraseology used by Mitrush Kuteli has played an important role in enriching the literary work. Through folk phraseology he enriches everyday life, habits, rituals and Albanian traditions, using the language of truthfulness. Kuteli is among the deepest connoisseurs of this phraseology. The folk phraseology inherited from generation to generation constitutes a fundamental matter in the enrichment of the literary work, which complements and widens the literary work, by giving it meaningful, stylistic, emotional and expressive hues. Keywords: Phraseological l units expressing: congratulations, curses, life, death, morality.

Janz is professor of religious studies at Loyola University, New Orleans, · Louisiana. From the time of its inception as a discipline, the scientific study of religion has raised the question of the universality of religion. Are human beings somehow naturally religious? Has there ever been a truly religionless society? Is modernity itself inimical to religion, leading slowly but nevertheless inexorably to its extinction? Or does a fundamental human religiosity survive and mutate into ever new forms, as it adapts itself to the exigencies of the age? There are as of yet no clear answers to these questions. And religiologists continue to search for the irreligious society, or at least for the society in which religion is utterly devoid of any social significance, where the religious sector is a tiny minority made up largely of elderly people and assorted marginal figures.

  • Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova
Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova Jahja Drançolli* Abstract In the present study it is examined the issue of Illyrian- Albanian continuity in the areal of Kosova, a scientific problem, which, due to the reasons of daily policy, has extremely become exploited (harnessed) until the present days. The politicisation of the ancient history of Kosova begins with the Eastern Crisis, a time when the programmes of Great-Serb aggression for the Balkans started being drafted. These programmes, inspired by the extra-scientific history dressed in myths, legends and folk songs, expressed the Serb aspirations to look for their cradle in Kosova, Vojvodina. Croatia, Dalmatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Montenegro. Such programmes, based on the instrumentalized history, have always been strongly supported by the political circles on the occasion of great historical changes, that have overwhelmed the Balkans. Key Words: Dardania and Dardans in antiquity, Arbers and Kosova during the Middle Ages, geopolitical, ethnic, religious and cultural concepts, which are known in the sources of that time followed by a chronological development. The region of Kosova preserves archeological monuments from the beginnings of Neolith (6000-2600 B.C.). Since that time the first settlements were constructed, including Tjerrtorja (Prishtinë), Glladnica (Graçanicë), Rakoshi (Istog), Fafos and Lushta (Mitrovicë), Reshtan and Hisar (Suharekë), Runik (Skenderaj) etc. The region of Kosova has since the Bronze Age been inhabited by Dardan Illyrians; the territory of extension of this region was much larger than the present-day territory of Kosova. * Prof. Jahja Drançolli Ph. • THE RECEPTION and CENSORSHIP of SURREALISM in ALBANIA Abstract: Surrealism Was Censured and Harshly Repudiated in Post-War Communist Albania
Section 2. Literature Bora Kuçuku, University of Tirana Faculty of Foreign Languages French Language Department E-mail: [email protected] THE RECEPTION AND CENSORSHIP OF SURREALISM IN ALBANIA Abstract: Surrealism was censured and harshly repudiated in post-war communist Albania. Even though several Surrealist authors were important members of communist parties in France and other countries, and even though they were prominent voices who, through their works have had an undeniable impact on the establishment of the communist political ideals, Enver Hoxha did not spare his ideological scissors of censorship on Surrealist literature. Heading the black list was Louis Aragon, with whom Hoxha is thought to have met during his student years in France. The aim of this article is to show — through the official texts and the translated texts of that period — how flagrant, ideologically-biased and non-coherent the censorship and the perception of Surrealism were in Albania. The censorship in Albania differed from that in other communist countries. Censorship of Surrealism and (mis)interpretation of Surrealism in other communist countries were not as radical as those effected in Albania. The article draws attention to a number of fragments from Surrealist literature published in communist Albania. The purpose the authorities had in publishing these fragments is obvious and unequivocal and is oftentimes ridiculous — even though the fate of these works and of the Albanian intellectuals and readers who were punished and interned because they desired to understand and relish this greatest artistic movement at the start of the twentieth century was severe. To this day the cultural gap for the Albanian readership concerning Surrealism has not been completely filled.
