His first film appearance was at 11 year's old in MGM's "Boy's Ranch", singing Darling Clementine in the campfire scene. Steve Burke Chief Executive Officer NBCUniversal 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York, NY 10112 Jeff Shell Incoming Chief Executive Officer NBC Universal 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York, NY 10112 December 17th, 2019 Dear Mr. Burke and Mr. Shell, We write as members of the New York State Legislature to express our concern about allegations of a toxic workplace environment at NBCUniversal. There is growing evidence of a culture that silences victims of harassment and those who report inappropriate workplace behavior at NBC. NBCUniversal’s recent decision not to renew Gabrielle Union’s contract on America’s Got Talent is just the latest example of a concerning pattern of behavior on the part of NBC. Union was allegedly let go after raising concerns about racist jokes made on set and having been told repeatedly that her hairstyles were “too black.” These allegations represent unacceptable workplace behavior that no one should be subject to, let alone terminated for reporting. We are grateful that NBC has committed to Union that they will investigate her allegations and termination. However, NBC must be transparent about the findings of their investigation and take concrete steps to reform the toxic culture throughout the company. Union’s experience is only one example of the systemic silencing of victims of harassment and those who have spoken up at NBC. As reported extensively by Ronan Farrow and others, NBC ignored complaints of sexual misconduct against Matt Lauer and stymied Farrow’s reporting on Harvey Weinstein while at NBC. Farrow has also reported that at least seven women have signed non-disclosure agreements with the company after alleging sexual harassment, including individuals who made complaints about Lauer before November 2017.

HAVING SOMEONE IN THEIR CORNER CAN CHANGE THEIR WORLD. 2015 ANNUAL REPORT 6 MATCH STORIES 24 AFFINITY GROUPS 26 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS 28 SPECIAL EVENTS 32 IN OTHER NEWS 34 PROGRAMS 36 GENEROUS DONORS CHANGE THEIR WORLD. CHANGE THE WORLD. If we take a moment and think back to when we were growing up, most of us would probably remember someone being there for us – in our corner. Someone who was always ready to give us advice, support, encouragement, and all the other things we needed to help us become who we are today. Unfortunately, when thousands of kids living in New York today look over their shoulder, there’s no one standing in their corner. That’s why we believe having a Big in their life is so important. Through one-to-one mentorship, our Bigs fill that empty corner in a Little’s life with friendship, caring, understanding, and guidance. They share life experiences and new experiences. But mostly, they help them see that the world they’re living in now doesn’t have to be their world tomorrow. When Littles know they have someone standing in their corner, it can really change their lives. For some, that means going from barely passing grades to being accepted to college. For others, it’s being exposed to career options their parents never had. Or it’s having a friend to help them understand a new language and explore a new life in America. We wouldn’t be able to put a single Big in a Little’s corner if it weren’t for all of the volunteers, community partners, and donors we have in our corner.

  • Here's Why Most New Network TV Shows Will Flop
September 2019 #74 __________________________________________________________________________________________ _____ Here’s Why Most New Network TV Shows Will Flop By Steve Sternberg These are the best of times for TV viewers, but it might be the worst of times for broadcast TV. The mortality rate of new broadcast series is higher than ever. Out of 68 new primetime scripted series premiering in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, only 11 (16%) will still be on the air in fall 2019. Here are some thoughts on the whys and wherefores. The new TV season is not as relevant as it used to be. Prior to the early 2000s, the new fall TV season was one of the few entertainment topics discussed throughout the summer on syndicated TV shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and Access Hollywood, and print magazines such as People, Us, and Entertainment Weekly. The broadcast networks aired mostly repeats, cable networks contained mostly off-network reruns and reality, and except for the occasional movie blockbuster or celebrity scandal, there wasn’t much else to focus on. But that was before original scripted series started proliferating on various cable networks during the summer months, and before more than half the country subscribed to at least one streaming service. The new broadcast season simply doesn’t get as much press as it used to. There are new scripted series available to viewers year-round. A Sternberg Report Sponsored Message Unrivaled Reach.
