The latest historic musical tribute from “Best Of Fringe Venue Award” winner, Br. John. Smokey (Br. John) bares his soul from topics on marriage, infidelity, and drug abuse. Discover how he received a new lease on life and his secret to success.”

Enjoy Br. John’s story telling ability to take patrons on an hour journey into Smokey’s past. The story allows you to hear his lyrics with newfound meaning. Learn how the words to “Tears of a Clown” “You Really Got a Hold on Me” and more hits reflect the inner thoughts of the legendary singer, songwriter and producer.

Br. John’s show looks into Smokey’s past and explains the events in his life that influenced his life. In a small departure to previous story-telling, Br. John said that this is the first show of a living person. Past shows were tributes to deceased performers.

John possesses a rare talent to make his audience believe he is the actual performer. As John tells the Smokey’s story, you will believe Smokey is standing in front of you and telling you his story. As the show unfolds, the audience hears Smokey’s hits.

In the past, Br. John’s shows sell out. As word of mouth and reviews spread, the demand for his shows grows. His show works on all levels and the Motown sound brings tons of memories. While the show has some adult language, it is not strong, overdone, or offensive. The show would be appropriate for teens and up.
