Roy’s short film reach the Directors’ Fortnight selection, along with the feature film Fatima, a France/Québec co-production with Serge Noël - Possibles Média. This year, Québec filmmakers have attained unprecedented recognition at Cannes - with Denis Villeneuve and his feature film Sicario vying for the Palme d’Or, and Xavier Dolan’s historic selection to serve on the feature film jury. -

2013 ANNUAL REPORT MESSAGE FROM OUR PARTNER At the Harold Greenberg Fund’s roots is our pride in our industry and the talented professionals that make it so unique. Since its creation over 27 years ago, the Harold Greenberg Fund has invested through its English and French-language programs more than $85 million to help bring 3,920 fi lm and television productions to life. This ongoing support of Canadian creativity illustrates the Harold Greenberg Fund’s strong commitment to cultivating our country’s talent at home and abroad. In the past year, Astral whose founders were behind the creation of the Harold Greenberg Fund became part of Bell Media. Building on this union, Bell Media is proud to take up the torch and continue to pursue the Harold Greenberg Funds’ mission, to the benefi t of the cinema and television industry but also our culture and identity as Canadians. As expected, this past year’s productions were rich, varied, sensitive and smart. In short we were dazzled. In the 2012-2013 fi scal year, the Harold Greenberg Fund fi nanced nearly 200 projects through investments totalling $4 million. Those productions included Peter Stebbings’ Empire of Dirt, Frédérik Pelletier’s Diego Star, Agnieszka Holland’s In Darkness, which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2012 Academy Awards ®, and Sébastien Pilote’s Le Démantèlement, which won the SACD Prize at the 52nd Semaine de la Critique of Cannes. Those are just a few examples of the high quality productions created by passionate Canadian artists. The present and future of Canadian fi lm is very bright. -
