SECTION 1 - GENERAL 3.6 Only Voting-members are eligible to apply for international tickets. 1.1 The Club shall be called "THE HAMMERSMITH & FULHAM RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB". Welcome to Silver Leys for our final home game before Christmas and of course 2016. I would especially like to welcome the Players, Officials and Supporters of Exmouth RFC. Everyone lucky enough to be here for our last home match against league leaders Chinnor will agree that they witnessed a compelling game. Even better it resulted in us registering a five point win over our rivals whilst restricting them to just the one try bonus point. Whilst the outcome of the match was never going to have a decisive impact on either team’s future. Our victory certainly made things a lot tighter at the top and sent the majority of those present, home with a smile on their face. I did say that a vocal crowd would make all the difference and so it proved. In the process we also discovered that we have some very capable ‘Banter-mime villains’ in our midst –Boo-Hiss!! Last Saturday at Redingensians was just as exciting. We managed to snatch a bonus point victory from half-way down the throat of defeat.

The season 2015/16 was again a huge success for Rugby in the County with the Bucks U 20 XV reaching the semi-final of the county plate competition and the senior XV also getting to the semi- final of their competition. This is the furthest either team have reached in the County’s history. As a County we seem to produce some very talented players, and this is very much down to the Clubs and Schools in our area being “Development” focused and ensuring that the most talented get the exposure they deserve. We intend as County to continue this theme every season and ensure that as many players as possible have the opportunity to play at their highest potential level.

Seasonal felicitations to you all & welcome back to Silver Leys for our first game of the New Year, one which holds great promise for our club. Welcome also to the players, officials and supporters of todays opponents Cinderford RFC. ‘2016’ has received a lot of bad press but it was pretty good to us! Bonus point victories in our last four games whilst others surprisingly dropped points, meant we finished the year on top of the heap, which was an unexpected and very pleasant early Christmas present. Last time out here we overcame a spirited Exmouth team 38-7. They certainly didn’t play like they were bottom of the table, which illustrates the competitive nature of this league. In the pre-Christmas game at Bury St Edmunds, our large and vociferous band of travelling supporters helped negate any benefit the Suffolk side may have expected by being at home. Ultimately though games are won and lost on the pitch and once again our guys produced a polished performance to run out comfortable 33-16 winners.

Hannah Botterman and Zoe Harrison were both playing in just their second match having made their debut in the first game against Canada. Lottie continued her representative run with her 11th cap. On a great night for the girls, Hannah scored her debut try with Zoe scoring a conversion for a later try. Lottie unfortunately sustained a head injury during the game which needed nine stitches. Hemel Hempstead Golfers 7766 Wooden Spoon Charity National Rugby Club Golf Challenge Henley Golf Club Wednesday 20th September 2017 On Wednesday 20th September a team from HHRUFC along with 19 other Rugby Club Golf teams from around Southern England and the Midlands helped to raise £2,500 for the Wooden Spoon charity for disadvantaged children The team from HHRUFC comprised of, Jon Clapham, Chris Lovesay, Jim Temperley Snr & Jim Temperley Jnr gave a good team performance aided by an outstanding individual performance from Jim Temperley Jnr.

Our rugby, which I will let others develop on, despite showing some real signs of promise across both sides was blighted with injuries, tough opposition and us not living up to potential. The emergence of a number of youngsters was a highlight that I am sure will feature further on in this publication. However, all three sides from National 3 that had been relegated found their way into London 1 North and it was an portentous omen for what lay ahead. Our relegation was imposed upon us with 4 games left to play and I was told with no uncertainty not to appeal the decision. Whilst I like to think the RFU was worried about our landmark appeal having a knock-on effect on Saracens, it’s more likely an algorithm somewhere made the decision on their behalf. Denied the opportunity of a Hollywood ending to a torrid season or any Hail Mary play in the last minutes of our final game the club took the relegation with stoicism. Once bruised egos subsided two things became clear. Firstly, this was a chance to shore up the club. In some instances, the fun had gone out of playing and supporting OP rugby.
