Table of Contents We dedicate this report to Frank Barrett who passed away December 31, 2010. Frank was a longtime grower/cooperator with the Texas Potato Breeding and Variety Development Program. Frank was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Wendell, Idaho, to Fred and May Roberts Barrett. He grew up in Wendell, working on his father's potato farm and graduating from high school in 1940. After the 1940 potato harvest, he moved with his parents, four brothers and three sisters to Hereford to help establish the family's potato growing and shipping business in the Texas Panhandle. He remained active in the potato business until his last days, with 2010 constituting the family's 101st consecutive year to produce a potato crop. In 2004, he was named to the Texas Fruit and Vegetable Growers Hall of Fame. He will be missed. Expert Committee on Pesticide Residues in Food Potatoes Pesticide Residues Monitoring Report 2015 This is an amalgamation of the quarterly reports Introduction We monitor potatoes annually due to their importance as a staple part of the diet. This survey covers both maincrop (or ware) and new potatoes. We sampled and reported potatoes in every quarter of 2015. The Animal and Plant Health Agency’s Plant Health and Seed Inspectors collected the potato samples from a range of points in the supply chain (wholesalers, potato processors, ports and import points). We published results for this survey on our website as part of the rolling reporting programme. Conclusions Summary statement None of the residues detected by the laboratory would be expected to have an effect on health.
