Jacko’s Auction

Supporting a Wrexham Legend! This auction will consist mainly of sporting memorabilia and funds raised will benefit two causes. Firstly Jacko, a diehard fan of Wrexham football club who is currently fighting throat cancer and secondly, Macmillan Cancer Support, registered charity in England and Wales (261017).

Thanks go to kickstart2employment for helping pay for the printing costs of the auction!! Jacko’s Auction

Jacko has been hit hard and is currently fighting throat cancer. Funds raised so far have helped him financially and allowed him to live his life as normally as possible. This auction is phase three of a fundraising project which has brought the community together. We have been supported throughout the process by The Evening Leader and also www.wrexham.com, individuals have donated to the auction which means every item has been gifted to us. Both local and national businesses have also supported our cause. Companies as large as Boots, and also as small as mad4movies in the market, have donated to our raffles. Thank you one and all!! Stu Roberts, one of the organisers explains, “It all started when my 10 year old daughter overheard a conversation about a group of friends having a whip round for Jacko. Due to having to give up work we knew that he would be short of cash until he beats the cancer, and we wanted to help. Over the next few days Megan compiled a list of fundraising events that she wanted to arrange. So far she has arranged a cake sale at Ysgol Bryn Collen and raised just shy of eighty pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support. She has also run three and a half kilometres around the Wrexham FC pitch. Sponsorship and donations are still coming in for this event but she has topped the one thousand pound mark. This money has helped Jacko to pay bills and keep his bank charges to a minimum; as well as allowing him to keep in contact with his son on a regular basis.” Lot 1 – Sunset at The Racecourse

We have had tremendous support for this auction and unfortunately cannot list all items to be auctioned today. We have some items on display where you can place a blind bid in the envelopes provided. These bids will be checked after the auction has finished and the highest bidder will be contacted. Simply state what item you want to bid on, what your bid is and a means for us to contact you.

It really is quite humbling that we have had about forty items donated for auction, all by the local community. None of the items have been bought!!!!

Keep an eye out for this awesome pencil drawing which the artist has generously agreed to donate to help with our fundraising.

Thanks go to Liam Stokes-Massey. (you can follow him on Facebook!)

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer. We are all affected by cancer. We can all help. We are Macmillan. Roll of honour

There are far too many people to thank individually for their support for our fundraising. The whole community really has pulled together for a fan of our community club. We have had support from all sorts. National companies like Boots are involved as well as one man bands like mad4movies in the market. Kickstart2employment is a new startup business and they have helped to fund the printing of this catalogue. www.redpassion.co.uk has shown it’s colours again, The Leader has been tremendous with it’s coverage of events and Saith Seren, our community pub has also supported us and I know they have their eyes on one particular item tonight.

Many of the items have needed frames and “Off the wall” in the market really helped us out with those. Max Spielmann has helped us with printing the sunset item and many highstreet shops have helped with raffle prizes. Thanks must also go to The Co-Operative, Bodidris Hall, Caffe Nero’s, Boots, The Wrexham Lager Club, The Turf and The Maesgwyn Hall.

My personal thanks must go to a few people who have made all this possible and as pain free as possible. Jenny Cantwell, Shay Brightman, Geraint Lloyd, Wayne from The Turf, Kev and Sharon from The Maesgwyn!! Thank you all so much!!!!!

A special thanks must go Mark THE BEAST Creighton and the players that have donated, Nick Hencher for helping to get some goodies signed and hosting the auction this evening, but most importantly, my amazing ten year old daughter who has inspired me to do this, she truly is amazing. Thank you Megan!!!!!!!

I am so glad that this is now out of the way and I am looking forward to the day when we can all shout…… Jacko, Jacko, give us a song!!!!

We love you, mate. Get well soon!!!!!
