When the two Westfields 3 Royal Wootton Bassett Town 2 sides met back in September goals from Danny Langford, Alfie Presley and Gio Wrona gave us a 3-1 away win. When preparing the “Previous Meetings” page for today’s programme it Allpay Park, 4th January 2020 made me realise how much our side has changed in terms of playing personnel since the Westfields extended their lead at the top of the uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division start of the season, with just Caine Bradbury, Gio Wrona, Alfie Presley and Carl Evans from with a hard-fought 3-2 home win over visiting Royal Wootton Bassett. Westfields, who that side that won at Longlevens likely to feature today. Brimscombe & Thrupp and Westfields Our last home game of 2019 saw us pick up three points from an excellent 4-2 win over Westfields had to overcome the fact that they lost goalkeeper Joe Gorman on the hour and Brimscombe & Thrupp, helped by an impressive display from the evergreen Matt Bulman in without a substitute keeper on the bench Westfields’ defender Kane Kahaki went in goal the Bassett goal. Welcome to After the interval Westfields found the visitors much more forthright as they came looking Bassett to Ellis, who made a good start to his Bassett career in that Dev Team game last for an equaliser but when Westfields lost Gorman on the hour they had to reshuffle the week. side with Kahaki taking the gloves and the green jersey and substitute central defender Paul Hurrell coming in to play alongside Ryan Green. Another good performance to start the New Year saw us eventually lose 3-2 away at Westfields last Saturday. Given how they comfortably won here at the Gerard Buxton Sports It was slightly against the run of play that Westfields went 3-1 ahead when they burst Ground earlier in the season we ran them really close this time. I understand from those forward and Aidan Thomas rifled home a shot from 15yds into the bottom corner of the that made the long journey to Westfields that this was one of the best away performances net to give Westfields a 3-1 lead. The home side, urged on by 162 home spectators, then of the season by our young side and the champions elect certainly knew they had been in a had to defend well and twice Ollie Butler and Ryan Green got in good tackles to keep the tough game at the final whistle.
