Cup Extra-Preliminary Round fixture. Crawley Green have travelled here from the Luton area and we hope they enjoy their short stay with us here today and wish them a safe journey home. If today’s game results in a draw the Meet your local team.... replay will be at Barton Rovers FC, Barton Le Cay, where Crawley Green play their home fixtures. That replay would be on Wednesday night and if needed the postcode for the ground at Barton Rovers is MK45 4SD. Richard James are pleased to have recently joined the Royal Wootton Bassett High Street. As you may or may Crawley Green play in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League. When the F.A. not know, we have recently taken over the reigns at Cup and F.A. Vase draws are made the one big desire I always have is that we do not draw someone Select Properties whilst Andy and Kerry the former from our own league. This season I have, apart from the 1st Qualifying Round F.A. Vase draw when owners settle in to their retirement (lucky them!). we play host to Fairford, got my wish. The winner of today’s encounter will win the right to play either Stotfold or Berkhamsted, another two sides from the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands With our network of six additional offi ces located League, in the next round. If we defeat Fairford in the F.A. Vase we get to meet Codicote in the next throughout Swindon and its surrounding villages, Jo Bunkasem round who are also from the Spartan South Midlands League but are a Division One side. It goes Richard James have been helping people move in the without saying that today’s encounter is the first ever meeting between the two sides and it will be Wiltshire area for over 23 years. We have a large team interesting to see how the two leagues match up. Whilst the two sides have not met we do possess a 100% record against sides from the Spartan South Midlands League having won our one and only of local experienced staff all looking forward to getting encounter with sides from the league back in season 2008-09 when a hat-trick from Shaun Terry to know and become part of the Royal Wootton Bassett inspired us to a 5-3 extra-time win over Buckingham Athletic. The only player still turning out in blue community. and yellow from that day who might play today is Steve Yeardley who also scored that today, Craig Shand getting the other goal. We are very proud to have been asked to support the Royal Wootton Bassett Football Club and are looking Whilst the teams playing in the Extra Preliminary Round will not make it through to the final at forward to a successful season ahead. Wembley I will once again be including in this year’s programme our “Road to Wembley”. Last year that road had very much a London theme to it from Round 4 onwards with Tottenham, Josh McHugh Fulham, Millwall, Chelsea and then Arsenal obviously in the final standing between royal Wootton Alex Hornby Bassett Town and those steps at Wembley. The Road to Wembley in 2016-17 also included our Managing Director local friends Swindon Supermarine along the way, shame we didn’t get past Andover Town in that Extra Preliminary Round tie. Interestingly there are two teams in this season’s Extra Preliminary Round who have made it through to the Quarter Finals, although both Northwich Victoria and Chatham Town achieved this feat way back in the 19th Century. Northwich Victoria Are you thinking about moving? are also one of three former Football League clubs playing in this round, the other two being Northern league side Ashington and North West Counties League side Nelson. For teams entering at this stage realistically major success would be to get through to the 3rd Qualifying Whether you are thinking about selling or Round, which would mean winning 4 games and £10,925 in prize money (the winner of today’s letting, contact us today for an up to date game will win £1,500). market appraisal of your home, or fi nd us Deborah Reay I know all the players get excited about playing in this prestigious competition and hopefully this online below and use our online valuation will help raise our game so we can go through a few rounds this season. In today’s programme tool to help you start your move. Press Officer Stuart Smedley takes a look back at our first really successful FA Cup campaign back in 2007-08 under Paul Burke. t: 01793 855 117 Comings and Goings As always with most clubs these days there is a sizeable movement of players over the summer w: richardjames.info months and there will be a few new faces as well as few familiar ones returning to the club this season. I am sure it gets worse each season with players being reluctant to commit to a side meaning pre- season friendlies see various different “guest” appearances in pre-season games. We have lost three 111 High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, SN4 7AU key players from recent seasons in Curtis Meare, Dan Comer and Steve Robertson, all of whom have joined Wantage Town. I am sure those two games will be eagerly awaited by players on both sides. Sales & Lettings: 01793 855117 Rebecca Barrett We wish all three the best at their new club and I am sure the door will always be firmly open should [email protected] they decide to return in the future. In their place Rich has been actively recruiting and has brought in some excellent replacements and on paper at this stage looks to have strengthened the squad.

Jacko’s Auction Supporting a Wrexham Legend! This auction will consist mainly of sporting memorabilia and funds raised will benefit two causes. Firstly Jacko, a diehard fan of Wrexham football club who is currently fighting throat cancer and secondly, Macmillan Cancer Support, registered charity in England and Wales (261017). Thanks go to kickstart2employment for helping pay for the printing costs of the auction!! Jacko’s Auction Jacko has been hit hard and is currently fighting throat cancer. Funds raised so far have helped him financially and allowed him to live his life as normally as possible. This auction is phase three of a fundraising project which has brought the community together. We have been supported throughout the process by The Evening Leader and also www.wrexham.com, individuals have donated to the auction which means every item has been gifted to us. Both local and national businesses have also supported our cause. Companies as large as Boots, and also as small as mad4movies in the market, have donated to our raffles. Thank you one and all!! Stu Roberts, one of the organisers explains, “It all started when my 10 year old daughter overheard a conversation about a group of friends having a whip round for Jacko. Due to having to give up work we knew that he would be short of cash until he beats the cancer, and we wanted to help. Over the next few days Megan compiled a list of fundraising events that she wanted to arrange. So far she has arranged a cake sale at Ysgol Bryn Collen and raised just shy of eighty pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

  • MAKING a DIFFERENCE the 2019/20 PFA Community Player Engagement Review WELCOME
MAKING A DIFFERENCE The 2019/20 PFA Community Player Engagement Review WELCOME To the 2019/20 PFA Community Player Engagement Review. The PFA’s Community Department is committed to raising awareness of the extensive work and participation of players in support of community and charitable engagement. We extend our support, guidance and involvement across many diverse areas of activity in Health, Education, Social Inclusion, Sports Participation and Equalities, emphasising our responsibility to make a positive difference in society. As a union we continue to be proactive, continue to raise standards of support to players and encourage greater cooperation from football clubs to adapt their philosophy towards corporate social responsibility. The PFA’s partnerships with the Premier League Charitable Fund, the English Football League Trust and the National League Trust have strengthened once again over the past 12 months. The overarching Code of Practice, to which all Club Community Foundations must adhere, has enabled them to implement a coordinated, structured and focussed approach to community player engagement and embed a sense of social responsibility within all of our players. The player engagement programme during the season has included Club Community Ambassadors in areas of Health, Education, Inclusion and Equalities, recognition of 111 PFA Community Champions at local club level from both the men’s and women’s game, and the continued development of player foundations. See page 7 for a full breakdown of player engagement activities across the season. The 2019/20 campaign is one we will never forget both on and off the pitch. As a result of Covid-19 we have seen the worst public health crisis for a generation, and here in the UK one of the highest casualty rates of the pandemic anywhere in the world.

I though ‘It’s not going to be bettered.’ ‘We’re not going to get anyway near it.’ ‘Clubs aren’t going to want to do it again.’ The harder thing to do would be to reimagine it as something completely different, bigger and better. Guess which route we took? The Hopper & Son Non-League Challenge Trophy was born long before the completion of our virtual FA Cup. One of the trickier parts to our original competition was the necessary omission of 100-200 Step 6 clubs due to the limited number of entrants that the FA Cup offers. Those that missed out included some of the fantastic clubs we’d visited in the past and, although they may never have know and, even if they did, they may not have cared, I felt bad.
