The pitches con- 1 Whitburn 18 11 2 5 50 41 9 35 47 cerned are for the use of the youth sides of Carnoustie Panmure Community FC and not and never have been for Carnoustie Panmure JFC. The East Region the back of high-scoring affairs. clubs of the old Tayside League have been something of a victim of their geographical Last weekend's Fife derby against Glenrothes went position between the Highland and Lowland and EoS Leagues. The East Region clubs Tayport's way, with striker Dayle Robertson (pictured) the recently voted for a four division set-up next season, with clubs playing each other star of the show, netting all four of his side's goals in a 4-3 win. three times. There will be North and South Super Leagues and North and South Prem- His first came after only three minutes, with 'keeper ier Leagues which will fit (somewhere?) into the Scottish Football Pyramid. Mushet beaten by Robertson's low finish.

A dip into the Archives shows that Tayport had pushed for a restructure back in 1993. On 25 minutes, Jamie Mackie sent Robertson racing clear to double the lead, then ten minutes later, in a similar move, Robertson was felled by the visiting Gavin Moffat. Tayport's top scorer stepped up to complete his hat-trick from the spot.

Game over by half-time? Not quite. Other chances Scepticism prevailed until 2002 and now 17 years later in 2019 we find ourselves back were passed up and, just short of the hour, John in what is effectively a Tayside League and something like a Forthside League, both Martin rounded Jack Shaw and pulled one goal back for the Glens. under the East Region umbrella. With quarter of an hour remaining, Dayle Robertson connected with a ball from Luke O'Brien, to give him his fourth of the afternoon and restore the ARCHIVE PIC from 2002 three goal lead.

Shows Tayport players celebrating winning the last ever Tayside Junior FA Championship Game over? Not quite. The visitors scored twice more, late in the match, following their 3-0 win over Carnoustie at the Canniepairt in Tayside’s last ever league game but Tayport did manage to hold on to collect three big points.

Another win today would be a big boost, but Carnoustie always provide a stern test, so the Canniepairt men will have to be at their best. Support the ‘Port!

Dayle to the Four !

Dayle Robertson became the first Tayport player to score 4 goals in a home league game since Brian ‘Birdie’ Craik 19 years ago v. Forfar Albion. Since then Davie Evans, on three occasions, and Scott Peters have netted four goals, but in away league games or in cup ties.

Incidentally, Birdie is still pulling on a football shirt to play a starring role for Broughty United’s Alliance team in the Midlands Amateur FA, recently picking up a Lunan Trophy winner’s badge to add to his collection. 12 5 HALL of FAME INDUCTIONS (Part 2) Local Business Adverts The successful Dinner in Scotscraig Golf Club earlier this month brought the total number of those inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame over the years to 23.
