Level39 Level39 is the world’s most connected community for finance, retail, cybersecurity and smart city technology companies. Owned wholly by Canary Wharf Group, Level39 launched in March 2013. Since then, Level39 has grown from a simple idea into a three-floor, 80,000 sq ft community space occupying three floors of One Canada Square. It is one of the first developers in the UK to create a biodiversity action plan and has installed a number of ecological features such as bird and bat boxes, beehives and insect hotels to maximise biodiversity. The area is now home to five bat species, several bird species, tufted ducks, mallards, terns and seals. • The Canary Wharf estate has run on 100% renewable electricity purchased since 2012. • 18 tonnes of waste are processed every day with zero waste going to landfill from managed areas since 2009. • 71 projects are BREEAM certified or in progress to be certified. BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for master planning projects, infrastructure and buildings. BREEAM rated developments are more Crossrail Place Roof Garden sustainable environments that enhance climate resilience and wellbeing of people that live and work in them. • Recently completed One & Five Bank Street is the largest commercial development in the UK to achieve BREEAM New Construction ‘Outstanding’ rating at final certification. • 37 buildings certified by the FSC (Forestry Steward Certification), more than any other developer, using 30,000 cubic metres of certified timber from well-managed forests and recycled sources. • The Canary Wharf estate is the first commercial centre in the world to set and have approved Science Based Targets by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) to reach net zero carbon by 2030 in line with the Paris Agreement goals. • CWG is the first property developer to sign The Climate Pledge which now has over 100 corporate members. Removing single-use plastic • In June 2018 CWG launched the Breaking the Plastic Habit programme to Crossrail Place Roof Garden remove single-use plastic from Canary Wharf. So far over 9 million pieces of single use plastic have been removed or recycled and 1.2 million plastic straws eliminated annually. • As a result, CWG was awarded the Plastic Free Communities status from marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage and in doing so has become the first commercial centre in the world and the first district in London to achieve this status. • Since 2017, CWG has recycled its coffee cups, lids and coffee waste resulting in 5.9 million coffee cups recycled. If these were placed next to each other they would stretch for 360 miles, that’s from London to Dundee. Transport Canary Wharf Group has actively promoted and funded new transport connections for East London, including the Elizabeth line which is due to open at Canary Wharf in 2022, following a 10-year campaign led by Canary Wharf Group. • £200 million was contributed to build the station whilst taking all the construction risk; saving the government more than £800 million. • Once the Elizabeth line and its Canary Wharf station opens, Paddington will be 17 minutes away and Liverpool Street only 6 minutes away. There will also be a 39-minute link to Heathrow airport. • Canary Wharf is also well served with the Jubilee Underground line, two Docklands Light Railway stations, buses and a Thames River Bus Pier. Canary Wharf’s new neighbourhood, Wood Wharf, will provide up to 3,600 new homes, 2 million sq ft of office space, 350,000 sq ft of retail space and over nine acres of public spaces, squares and parks. There will also be a GP surgery and a school. The site will create over 20,000 new jobs through hotel, leisure, construction and recreational facilities. Canary Wharf with new neighbourhood, Wood Wharf* Residential In 2020, for the first-time people were able to live at Canary Wharf, offering residents a vibrant, social, cultural and sustainable community where people can live, work and play. Designed by Stanton Williams, 10 Park Drive was the first residential sales building to be developed on the Estate, and residents moved in June 2020. • 10 Park Drive is a 42-storey building comprising 345 apartments, with layouts of studio, one, two and three-bedrooms, with interior design by Make. • Amenities also include 24-hour concierge, private cinema, Residents’ Lounge and Club Room as well as access to a nearby Residents Club for fitness and spa facilities. The Sky Terrace on the 13th floor overlooks the Estate, the City and the river Thames offering a place of relaxation and retreat. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, One Park Drive is Canary Wharf Group’s The Terrace at 10 George Street second residential sales building developed on the Estate. Launched in May 2017, and comprising 483 apartments, the 58-storey tower forms part of the new neighbourhood Wood Wharf, and is the signature building at the head of the dock. Residents move in May 2021. • The building offers three main typologies: 60 Loft apartments on levels 02-09, 264 Cluster apartments on levels 10-32 and 156 Bay apartments on levels 33-57 each with its own individual specification and unique style. Layouts range from studio apartments, one, two and up to three bedrooms. Interiors have been designed by Bowler James Brindley (Loft) and Goddard Littlefair (Cluster and Bay). • The building has state of the art amenities with the reception, concierge, lounge, library and cinema located on the ground floor. The first floor houses the exclusive health club including a 20-metre pool, gym, studio space and spa with stunning views of the surrounding parks, gardens and water. Vertus, launched in October 2019, is a full-serviced build-to-rent operator part of CWG. The Vertus portfolio currently consists of three buildings: One Park Drive, 10 Park Drive and 10 George • 10 George Street welcomed its first residents in February 2020. Located in Wood Wharf, it is designed by GRID Architects. The building comprises 327 apartments over 37-storeys. • Designed by Stanton Williams, 8 Water Street has 174 apartments over 13-storeys and is Vertus’ first pert-friendly building. The building welcomed its first residents in October 2020. • Designed by Horden Cherry Lee and launching in May 2020, Newfoundland is located to the west of the main Estate.
