But as for Thee, Thou dwellest in the sanctuary, O Praise of Israel.” / Refrain. / “Glory & Now” … and … Refrain. SECOND ANTIPHON: (Refrain – “Save us, O Son of God, Who wast crucified in the flesh; who sing to Thee. Alleluia!”) “O God, why hast Thou cast us off unto the end? Remember Thy congregation, which Thou hast purchased from the beginning.” / Refrain. / “This is Mount Zion wherein Thou hast dwelt.” / Refrain. / “God is our King before the ages. He hath wrought salvation in the midst of the earth.“ / Refrain. / Glory & Now” … and … “O Only-begotten Son & Word of God …”. THIRD ANTIPHON: (Troparion During The Little Entrance – Tone One) Verses: “The Lord reigneth, let the people rage; He sitteth upon the cherubim, let the earth be shaken. The Lord is great in Zion; and He is high above all peoples. Let them confess Thy great Name, for it is terrible and holy. Followed immediately by the “Troparion of the Holy Cross” … See Below. THE ENTRANCE HYMN: Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at His footstool; for He is holy. Save us, O Son of God, Who wast crucified in the flesh; who sing to Thee. Alleluia. AFTER THE LITTLE ENTRANCE: TROPARION OF THE HOLY CROSS: (Tone One) O Lord, save Thy people and bless Thine inheritance; and to Thy Faithful people, grant victory over their enemies. And by the power of Thy Cross protect all those who follow Thee. KONTAKION OF THE ELEVATION OF THE CROSS: (Tone Four) Do thou, Who of Thine own good will was lifted up upon the Cross, O Christ our God, bestow Thy bounties upon the new Nation which is called by Thy Name; make glad in Thy might those who lawfully govern, that with them we may be led to victory over our adversaries, having in Thine aid a weapon of peace and a trophy invincible. THE ANTI-TRISAGION HYMN (Instead of “Holy God, Holy Mighty...”): “Before Thy Cross we bow down in worship, Master, and Thy Holy Resurrection we glorify. (3X) // “Glory & Now.” // “And Thy Holy Resurrection we glorify.” // “Dynamis!” // “Before Thy Cross we bow down in worship, Master, and Thy Holy Resurrection we glorify.” EPISTLE: 1 Corinthians 1:18-24 (Elevation of The Cross) HOLY GOSPEL: John 19:6-11, 13-20, 25-28 & 30-35 (Elevation of The Cross) Concerning the “Kiss of Peace,” prior to the Nicene Creed, we encourage you to greet those around you with a bowing of the head, saying: “Christ is in Our Midst!”…the response being: He is and Always Shall Be!” In this way, we express: (1) our Joy that God has acted to restore our Communion with Him … and … (2) our Hope in the Resurrection from the Dead that is offered to us by our Lord’s own “trampling down death by death!” God is With Us (“Emmanuel”)! MEGALYNARION FOR THE CROSS (Instead Of “It Is Truly Meet...”): Magnify, O my soul, the most precious Cross of the Lord. O Theotokos, thou art the mystical paradise, which being untilled hath blossomed forth Christ, by Whom the life-bringing Tree of the Cross was planted in the earth. In worshipping Him now through its elevation, thee do we magnify. KOINONIKON (Communion Hymn): “The light of Thy countenance, O Lord, hath been signed upon us. The Healing Patch Children’s Grief Program is recruiting volunteers to work with grieving children and their families at the Cambria Center, 118 Ebony Rd., Ebensburg. The Healing Patch is a free peer support program for children and their families who have suffered the death of a loved one. Volunteers are the heart of the Healing Patch. While volunteers must understand they are unable to “fix” what has happened, they are able to facilitate activities to help children and adults connect and share their feelings in a safe and welcoming environment.
