The nomination and election process Thank you for submitting the name of this parishioner for consideration by the nominating committee. The nominating committee will make selections based on the criteria listed below, and with a view to a representing the diversity of our parish—age, involvement, skills, and gender—on the full vestry.

Those nominated for vestry service:  should be qualified according to the Canons (a confirmed member who is known to the treasurer);  should have demonstrated a level of commitment to St. Stephen’s which is appropriate to vestry service, including giving a (10 percent of income) or working meaningfully toward the tithe; attending worship weekly; and engaging in the ministries of St. Stephen’s;  should have the ability to be a constructive and unifying influence even when working with those of different viewpoints; and  should not be the spouse, sibling, parent or child of a member of the nominating committee, nor have served on St. Stephen’s vestry for at least three years.

Before submitting your suggestion, please ensure that the parishioner you suggest is willing to be considered.

Timetable  Suggestions due to nominating committee by Thursday, March 18, 2021.  Nominating committee presents a slate to the full vestry on April 20, and slate is announced in the eSpirit and on the parish website April 21.  Annual meeting and vestry election takes place virtually on May 16.

There will be no nominations from the floor during this virtual annual parish meeting. If a confirmed member wishes to nominate someone not on the slate chosen by the nominating committee and announced on April 21, they may submit the name to the senior warden or the nominating committee chairperson by April 23.
