What a year it has been! I can’t begin thank the NA3HL teams enough for the way they have handled and navigated through this season. The fact that we made it through a full regular season and playoffs in all five divisions is a testament to how invested everyone was to making sure our players could compete and develop. As a result, we now get to celebrate this weekend with two great events in one location, the Fraser Cup and the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament. While this season has been unique and one of the most challenging in our history, this weekend provides us with an opportunity to showcase our players, our teams, and our league. This weekend is also a bittersweet for all of us in the NAHL and NA3HL office, because we remember our long-time staff member Fraser Ritchie with the awarding of the Fraser Cup.

On behalf of the faculty and staff in the Sport Studies program I would like to congratulate you on selecting Lock Haven University to pursue your academic goals and prepare for your professional career. It is our pleasure to work with you to achieve these goals. The purpose of this freshman manual is to provide you with important information about the Sport Studies program and additional student services that will help you thrive and succeed with your studies. I encourage you to read through the materials and use it as a reference point if you have any questions regarding the programs. The manual provides information on academic programs, accelerated programs, minors, along with required courses, and a course sequencing sheet which outlines when you should schedule classes for the major. One important item is the contact information for your academic advisor within the department.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 5, 2013 Announcing The Eastern Hockey League BOSTON, Mass. – The new top junior league on the east coast is the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), which is comprised of 18 top-level organizations dedicated to the goal of college advancement. EHL teams are fully committing to the USAH Hockey Junior Model and all EHL organizations have a rich history of producing tomorrow’s NCAA and NHL stars. The EHL operating standards will mirror many USA Hockey Tier II standards and will guarantee that each player is given the best opportunity to receive maximum exposure to NCAA and NHL scouts. The strategic location of each organization will allow the EHL teams to keep player tuition down, minimize travel and allow scouts to attend regular season games in addition to the league showcase games. Former NHLer and U.S. Olympian Mark Kumpel, who spent the past five years coaching and managing a successful Junior hockey team, will serve as the EHL’s Director of Hockey Operations. “This group of coaches and owners are the best in Junior hockey,” said Kumpel. “The coaching staff of the EHL rivals that of any junior league in the country.” Current EHL head coaches include former college and professional players (see team web sites for individual bios).
