Fifth season career record: 67-69-14 AHC: 57-42-13-0 AIC Director of Athletics Matt Johnson named Eric Lang the ninth Head Ice Hockey Coach in program history on April 13, 2016. Lang begins his third stint as a Yellow Jacket, after being a four-year member of the hockey team while earning a psychology degree in 1998 and return- ing to serve as Graduate Assistant from 2006-08 earning his master’s degree in Organizational Behavior.

Lang has guided AIC to its best stretch in the history of its program, leading the Yellow Jackets to back-to-back-to-back Atlantic Hockey Conference championships. The 2019-20 team won 12 consecutive AHC games, a league record, en route to a 21-6-1-0 mark and a first-place finish prior to the season being cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic; the year prior, AIC won its first league regular season title and then captured the Jack Riley Memorial Trophy as AHC Tourament champions for the first time. To close out 2018-19, AIC stunned No. 1 St. Cloud State in the NCAA Tournament for the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. AIC ended both seasons ranked nationally by USCHO, the first two such seasons in program history. Lang was named Coach of the Year in Atlantic Hockey in both campaigns and in 2018-19 was the runner-up for the Spencer Penrose Award for national coach of the year.

A ten-year coaching veteran, Lang returned to his alma mater after spending the previous four seasons on the bench at Army West Point. During his tenure with the Black Knights, Lang worked his way up from a volunteer assistant during the 2012-13 cam- paign to serve as lead assistant over the last three seasons.

While at Army, Lang was responsible for handling the power-play unit, which ranked fourth in Atlantic Hockey during the 2015-16 season, as well as coordinating video analysis of games and working with student-athletes in on- and off-ice drills.

Before his time at West Point, Lang spent four seasons at , a Division III institution, guiding the women’s team for three seasons and the men’s team for one. At the helm of the Lady Valiants, Lang captured an ECAC East Conference and regular season title as well as the eight ranking in the final uscho.com Division III national poll while winning a total of 58 games. In his one season behind the bench, Lang led the team to a 14-9 record.

Lang skated in 80 games for AIC over his four years in the mid-90s, serving as a two-year captain while being honored with the ECAC Merit Medal and the College’s Henry Butova Leadership Award. He scored 25 goals and added 34 assists for 59 points from 1994-1998.

He has also worked for the as an off-ice official, assisting with in-game scoring and analysis in addition to coaching for four years at Byram Hills High School during his 20-plus years of hockey experience. aicyellowjackets.com // #aicommitted // #OneHiveOneFamily ASSISTANT COACH CORY SCHNEIDER Second season with team Cory Schneider joined the ice hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

Schneider brings a wealth of collegiate and professional hockey experience to the staff of the Yellow Jackets. Most recently, Schneider served as an assistant coach at the University of Mas- sachusetts Boston, a role he held from August 2017 through the end of the 2019 season.

While with the Beacons, he directed the team’s penalty kill unit, improving it from 45th in the nation to seventh in just two seasons. The Beacons won the New England Hockey Conference Regular Season Championship and earned its first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III Tourna- ment. He also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, performed video analysis of the team and its opponents, and developed and implemented practice and game plans.

Schneider previously worked as a volunteer assistant coach with the Wentworth Institute of Technology from September 2015 through August 2017. He assisted in player recruitment and developed on- and off-ice strength and conditioning plans in addition to his in-game duties.

Schneider was a four-year member of the ice hockey team at Ohio State University from 2008 to 2012, skating in 112 games for the Buckeyes while earning a bachelor of science in business administration. Selected by his teammates to serve as team captain in his senior season, he earned three selections to the Big Ten All-Academic Team as well as the 2010–2011 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

In addition, Schneider played professionally for the Fort Wayne Komets and Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL and the Fort Worth Brahmas in the CHL.

ASSISTANT COACH MATTHEW WOODARD ‘09 First season with team Matthew Woodard ‘09 joined the ice hockey coaching staff as assistant coach on October 30, 2020.

Woodard, who graduated from the College with degrees in criminal justice and psychology, competed in 133 games for the Yellow Jackets, notching six goals and 23 assists for 29 points from the blueline from 2005-09, including playing for Lang when he was the graduate assistant coach from 2006-08; in 2006-07, Woodard had his best season statistically, with four goals and seven assists for 11 points, all career highs.

Following a two-year professional playing career, Woodard began coaching, spending two seasons at Manhattanville College coaching the Valiants women’s team alongside classmate Dave Turco ‘09; from there, he made the jump to coaching at the Division I level at RIT, where he was an assistant from 2013-17. Among the players Woodard coached with the Tigers were Kendall Cornine and Mallory Rushton, who are now with the National Womens Hockey League’s Metropolitan Riveters.

More recently, Woodard spent 2017-19 at Yale and was an assistant coach at Dartmouth for the 2019-20 season.

aicyellowjackets.com // #aicommitted // #OneHiveOneFamily VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH PATRICK TABB ‘03 sixth season with team Patrick Tabb ‘03 rejoined the team’s coaching staff midway through the 2018- 19 season as a volunteer assistant after previously serving in the same position from the 2004-05 through the 2006-07 seasons.

Tabb was a four-year letterwinner on the ice hockey team from 1999-2003, playing in 115 games and collecting three goals and 12 assists for 15 points.

Tabb then left to take control of the then-Eastern Junior Hockey League’s Springfield Pics as the team’s head coach and general manager. The team was a founding member of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) in 2013, and in its first season in the newly-former league, won its Elite Division, advancing to the 2014 Tier III Junior Nationals, where they lost in the semi- finals to the eventual champion Boston Jr. Bruins. Tabb continued to lead the team as it moved up to the USPHL’s top division, the Premier Division, where in 2016-17 the team stunned the Jersey Hitmen en route to the league semifinals.

Tabb joined the Western New England University coaching staff in 2017, serving as an assistant coach for the Golden Bears, a position he held until resigning it in December of 2018 to rejoin AIC’s staff.

DIRECTOR OF HOCKEY OPERATIONS MIKE FINNEGAN Third season with team The American International College ice hockey team added Mike Finnegan to its staff as Director of Hockey Operations on September 20, 2018, and he is in his third season with the team.

Finnegan oversees video breakdown and analytical review for AIC, in addition to helping coordinate community engagement events and travel arrange- ments for the program. His efforts were critical in helping the Yellow Jackets win back-to-back Atlantic Hockey Conference titles in his first two seasons and the 2019 Jack Riley Memorial Trophy as AHC Tournament champions.

Finnegan is a 2016 graduate of the University of New England, where he ma- jored in sports management. While at UNE, he founded the club hockey team during his sophomore season in 2013-14, and served as the program’s president from 2014-16. His role included duties such as scheduling, representing the program at league meetings, purchasing equipment, budget management and travel coordination.

During the 2017-18 season, Finnegan worked as an off-ice official for the Worcester Railers of the ECHL, tracking player and team statistics as a real-time statistician. He also previously worked, in 2012, as a Public Relations and Community Outreach Intern for the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.

aicyellowjackets.com // #aicommitted // #OneHiveOneFamily COORDINATOR OF ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS SETH DUSSAULT ‘11/’15 Fourteenth season with team Seth Dussault ‘11/’15 is in his third season as the coordinator of athletic communications and 14th as a member of the athletic communications staff at AIC. He serves as the primary media contact for ice hock- ey and a number of other Yellow Jackets teams, as well as the play-by-play broadcaster on the vast major- ity of the athletic department’s webstreams.

A veteran of over 1,000 games behind the microphone for various sports at AIC, Dussault has been heavily involved on the media side of the athletic department since arriving at AIC as a freshman, including serving as the sports editor of the Taper Yearbook and the Yellow Jacket newspaper while a student. Among the events Dussault has covered are the 2013 women’s soccer team’s run to the NCAA Division II Final Four as the team won its first-ever East Region title and the 2018-19 ice hockey squad’s first-ever Atlantic Hockey Championship and subsequent upset of No. 1 St. Cloud State in its first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Dussault earned the 2017 Team Asset Award from the women’s squad, and in 2018 earned the first-ever Award from the ice hockey team and was named the Most Dedicated Yellow Jacket of the Year by the athletic department.

A native of Easthampton, Massachusetts, Dussault earned his Bachelor’s in history in May 2011, graduating from the College with honors. He then earned a Master’s in special education in December 2015.

ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS GRADUATE ASSISTANT SUMMER DUTTON ‘ First season with team Summer Dutton joined the athletic communications staff in the fall of 2020 as a graduate assistant and serves as the secondary media contact for the ice hockey team as well as in-game statistician and graphic designer for the team’s social media accounts.

A 2020 graduate of Atlantic Hockey Conference rival Mercyhurst University with degrees in marketing and sport business management, Dutton spent four years working with the Lakers athletic communications staff as a student assistant. There, she served as a marketing intern, and was responsible for the Lakers so- cial media and general coverage of the ice hockey team, including creating graphics and video content for the team, as well as in-game promotions.

Dutton is a native of Ludlow, Massachusetts, and is seeking a master’s in business administration from the College.
