JHLT-protected lands safeguard ecological function in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem by providing important habitat connectivity. Pronghorn and mule deer travel ancient migration routes, following the spring green-up each year across numerous conservation easements. Native trout species migrate through tributaries on these well-stewarded 87 properties to access spawning habitats. Over four decades, the Jackson Hole Land Trust has conserved more than 56,000 acres to protect the open space, agricultural legacy, and rich character of Northwest Wyoming. In our 2020 fiscal year, the JHLT added 326.5 acres to this total and 56,145 secured more than $3.5 million in public funding for active Acres of easements priority protection projects from Jackson Hole to the Green monitored River Valley and Wind River. From the Jackson Hole Land Trust’s first community campaign to protect Hardeman Barns to our recent acquisition on High School Butte, conserving community resources is at the heart of what we do.
