We also joined with a number of our other colleagues from this event to hold a trade tasting at The Bentley Bar and Restaurant on the Monday following Mental Notes. We are now gearing up for the other two major events on the natural wine calendar – Rootstock in Sydney and Soul For Wine in Melbourne. We are delighted that both Tony and Philippe Bornard will be attending Rootstock this year. To celebrate their visit we will be holding two very special events. The first will be a late lunch in Hobart at Franklin Restaurant and the second will be a dinner at the wonderful Bar Brosé in Sydney which will be cooked by Analeise Gregory as described below. And now to the special packs. We have a rather long story on the Côte de Beaune and a 6 pack of wines selected from that region of Burgundy. We have a special dozen comprised of wines that include very rare grape varieties that we like to seek out from the hidden corners of France. There is a pack of wines from our winemaker of the month, namely Domaine les Grandes Vignes from the Loire Valley.

  • Our Natural Wines Helping You to Appreciate Are the Result of the Deep Respect That Our Winemakers Have for Their Land
All served by the glass! Our natural wines Helping you to appreciate are the result of the deep respect that our winemakers have for their land. A respect that starts in the commitment to growing native grapes, a glass at a time . as an authentic expression of their land. It continues choosing organic and biodynamic farming methods, that favor the coexistence in the vineyard of a living plant biodiversity, made up of herbs or animals that keeps the vines healthy and nourish the soil and plants in a natural way. For our winery we have selected only labels and producers capable of creating, In natural winemaking the harvest is entirely manual, respecting the rhythms with their wines, a journey made of nature. Even in the cellar the intervention is minimal, of passion, authenticity and respect where the sole task of the winemaker is to accompany the grapes in the expression for the land. We believe that the best of their identity through an absolutely natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, way to help you explore it without temperature control, filtration or clarification that alter is to serve all our wines by the glass. the true “soul” of the wine. The result is Natural, vibrant, living wines, Because every step of this journey that are a perfect interpretations not only of the territory, of culture and tradition deserves to be sipped slowly, before but also of the personality and the unique passion of the winemaker. starting again to discover new emotions In a word it’s the real reflection of the “terroir”.

  • Loire Valley
PREVIEWCOPY Introduction Previewing this guidebook? If you are previewing this guidebook in advance of purchase, please check out our enhanced preview, which will give you a deeper look at this guidebook. Wine guides for the ultra curious, Approach Guides take an in-depth look at a wine region’s grapes, appellations and vintages to help you discover wines that meet your preferences. The Loire Valley — featuring a compelling line-up of distinctive grape varieties, high quality winemaking and large production volumes — is home to some of France’s most impressive wines. Nevertheless, it remains largely overlooked by the international wine drinking public. This makes the region a treasure trove of exceptional values, just waiting to be discovered. What’s in this guidebook • Grape varieties. We describe the Loire’s primary red and white grape varieties and where they reach their highest expressions. • Vintage ratings. We offer a straightforward vintage ratings table, which affords high-level insight into the best and most challenging years for wine production. • A Loire Valley wine label. We explain what to look for on a Loire Valley wine label and what it tells you about what’s in the bottle. • Map and appellation profiles. Leveraging our map of the region, we provide detailed pro- files of appellations from all five of the Loire’s sub-regions (running from west to east): Pays Nantais, Anjou, Saumur, Touraine and Central Vineyards. For each appellation, we describe the prevailing terroir, the types of wine produced and what makes them distinctive. • A distinctive approach. This guidebook’s approach is unique: rather than tell you what specific bottle of wine to order by providing individual bottle reviews, it gives the information you need to make informed wine choices on any list.

Wine column: South West France wines - Manchester Evening News Page 1 sur 3 24 Jan 2014 13:58 Wine column: South West France wines Andy Cronshaw tries three wines from France's hidden corner Without warning, a package of wines from the south west of France dropped on the office mat. The selection was from the lovely people at France Sud Ouest (see southwestfrancewines.com ) who have been working with thewinegang.com to market bottles from this fabulous and varied wine growing region. I have to say by the time I'd finished the wines I was ready to book my holiday in the south west of France. With wines like these to match its regional food, stunning beaches and spectacular rural scenery what could possibly go wrong? Nicely chilled, this sweet wine hits the spot with startling freshness running through its peachy, honeyed fruit.
