Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2014 Acting Returning Officer’S Response Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2014 Acting Returning Officer’s response 01 September 2014 Dear Sir/Madam Please find below my comments on the review. Current and future choices of polling station have been primarily based on the availability of potential venues coupled to the following desirable criteria:: A venue accessible for all within the polling district A venue within 1 mile safe walking distance No more than 2,500 polling station voters at a venue. Note that where a polling station exceeds this the venue must be capable of being split into a dual station (2 polling stations for the polling district within one building). An aim to minimise the use of Portacabins Yours faithfully Yvonne Dawes Acting Returning Officer Bristol City Council ASHLEY Polling Polling Place No. of Voters in Polling Station District Polling Station (*1) AYA Whole of polling district 2,220 St Bartholomews Church Lower Hall, Walsingham Rd AYB Whole of polling district 2,757 St Barnabas CEVC Primary School, Albany Rd/Brook Rd AYC Whole of polling district 1,939 St Werburghs Comm Centre, Horley Road AYD Whole of polling district 1.917 Malcolm X Centre, City Road AYE Whole of polling district 1,239 St Pauls Community Sports Academy, Newfoundland Road Acting Returning Officer’s proposals and comments 1) My proposals for polling stations are set out above.
