• During the regular Academic Year, EF New York is typically home to about 700-800 students, 93% live on campus

• During the summer and winter peaks, we can accommodate up to 1500 students on campus

• Most students travel via Metro North train from Tarrytown to Grand Central Station – round-trip ticket is $20.50 - $27 Note: there are alternate ways to get to Manhattan that are far less expensive but may take longer

• EF New York is in Manhattan No! We are located in a suburb of New York City, less than an hour away from mid-town Manhattan.

• There are too many young people on campus and it is not suitable for an older student No! We have a large population of students 25 or older on the professionals program. Our 25+ population is usually close to 20% during the academic year!

• It is too expensive to get to Manhattan No! There are alternate ways to get to Manhattan by bus and subway that are less expensive but take longer.

• There is nothing to do in Tarrytown – it’s so boring! Really?!? Tarrytown is a small town, but has much to offer! We also offer a comprehensive activity program on- and off-campus, as well as student clubs

• Students enrolled in the AD programs will earn a diploma with transfer credit to a an American College or University No! The Advanced Diploma programs are intensive general English programs with regular GE classes and 4 sections per week of specific content SPINs dedicated to their study area

• Students can choose to have classes in the morning only, leaving the afternoons free to explore (we especially hear this from individual Junior and LSP students) No! This is a big school and we run classes all day, with zig-zag schedules Everyone has SOME morning classes and SOME afternoon classes, which is fair to everyone! Welcome to EF New York!
