Situation Report No.187 Heavy rainfall has further worsened the flood situation in different . Event Details: Around 100 educational institutions in Kulaura, Juri and Borolekha have been forced to keep off providing lessons for the last one month as educational institutions either gone under flood water or used as flood shelter center. Heavy downpour and hill water from the upstream inundated fresh areas in 6 villages under Bishwanath upazila while thousands of people in Jogonnathapur upazila in lead miserable life as worse flood situation unchanged.

Affected Areas Damage Moulovibazar • Total 36 primary schools, high schools and colleges in forced to district shut down due to flood. • 22 primary schools and 5 high schools in forced to shut down due to flood. • 21 primary schools and 8 high schools in Borolekaha upazila forced to shut down due to flood. • Number of educational institutions used as flood shelter center and that number followed as 14 in Kulaura, 4 in Juri and 10 in Borolekha upazila. Sylhet district • Fresh areas of another 6 villages of Deokolosh union under Bishwanath upazila while 8 primary schools and 1 high school went under water. Inundated 6 villages are Jamalpur, Shadurgao, Perurgao, Sadpur, Kamilnagar and Konarai. • 1 lakh people of 50 villages are in miserable situation in Jogonnathapur upazila. • Roads and communication system also snapped.
