We’d like to welcome all member countries to participate in the inaugural 2020 International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) World Championship in Ottawa, Canada.

TD Place Arena will host the IJRU World Championship from July 8-13 and the Junior World Championship from July 5-7. will be the site of the International Open Tournament from July 5-7. Both venues are located in the lively complex, surrounded by hotels, restaurants, shops, parks and a very scenic riverfront. All-inclusive package holders will be housed nearby at . Packages that include the World Championship also include a 1-day skills camp lead by an elite staff.

IJRU General Congress The 2020 IJRU General Congress will occur at the conclusion of the World Championship. Specifics on time and location will be announced in the registration packet on January 1, 2020.

Camp & Educational Opportunities A variety of training opportunities will be offered on July 13 during the camp. Judge Clinician training, instructor certification, and numerous educational sessions will be offered. Register early to guarantee your spot. Detailed course descriptions and schedules will be in the registration packet available on January 1st. The following educational opportunities will be available:

● Judge Clinician Training: Become a part of our IJRU team of Judge Clinicians! Once certified, you will be able to offer training to other teams and judges. Do not miss out on this opportunity to gain the knowledge needed to train judges in your country. ● Level 1 Instructor Certification Part 2: This is an instructor certification course provided by a third party. It is a hands-on practical course that includes opportunities for demonstrations and instructional assessments in single rope and long rope formats. The live course will be active, so dress appropriately. Part 1 (online portion) is a prerequisite to Part 2. The link for part 1 will be in the registration packet. ● University Jump Rope: Learn how to create university teams and discuss the involvement and collaboration between universities that will promote and encourage participation globally in the sport of jump rope.

Following the World Championship, there will be a one day world camp staffed by some of the World Champions to make for a fun and exciting learning environment!

Message from the Medical Committee

To: IJRU Jumpers/Skippers, Coaches, Parents, and all other Stakeholders,

The 2020 IJRU World Championships in Ottawa, will have anti-doping control. IJRU’s anti- doping initiative is athlete centered. The purpose of anti-doping is to promote fair play, instill healthy lifestyle behaviors, and make the sport of jump rope/rope skipping consistent with Olympic regulations.

IJRU will provide a team of Athletic Trainers/Physiotherapists/Chiropractors at the venue for the athletes. They are mainly there to provide emergency response and basic first aid. Any additional services (ex: ankle taping, kinesio-taping, stretching, etc.) will be charged individually and accordingly.

Event registration Online registration for the IJRU World Championships, Junior World Championships and International Open Tournament will open on February 1, 2020. The registration package will be released on January 1, 2020 and will include:

● Indemnity and release forms: All participants, judges, volunteers and all-inclusive package holders must sign this form when registering.

● Code of Conduct: All athletes, coaches and spectators must follow.

● Credential photo: Upload a current photo of each participant (all jumpers plus anyone on an all-inclusive package.) Photo should be head and shoulders only, portrait orientation. Photo file size should be 10 MB or smaller.

● Rooming List: Rooms will be 2 or 4 per room with a shared bathroom. Those sharing rooms must be on the same package.

● Local Transfers: Local Transfers will be limited to certain days and hours between the Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Carleton University for “All Inclusive Packages” only. There will also be transportation between Carleton University and the competition venues. *Specific transportation restrictions and information will be publicized in the IJRU 2020 Registration Packet available on January 1st.
