Disney Paper Parks Disneyland Pop-Up RECYCLE © Disney DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Numbers: A, B, C + 1, 2, 3, 4 © Disney HISTORY INSTRUCTIONS When Walt Disney first opened Disneyland® on July 17, 1955, he created a unique destination where families could be immersed in storytelling and new experiences. More than 60 years later, the Disney Parks have continued to grow, ushering in new generations as well as new stories and lands. From the beginning stages of planning the park, maps have been essential in showcasing the design and history of Disneyland. From Herb Ryman’s initial aeriel-view sketch that helped Walt secure financing to build the park to the guide maps of today, maps and Disneyland go hand in hand. We hope you enjoy making your own pop-up version, ready to fold up and take along on your next trip! 1. Color the sheets as you like. 2. Fold Sheet A in half. Cut sheets B + C along the solid line, cutting MATERIALS GUIDE from one end of the sheet to the other. Fold along the lines, where indicated. Line up the cut edges along the middle font inside Sheet A (the cover sheet) and glue the sheets to the inside. 3. To build the pop-up components (sheets 1, 2, 3, & 4), cut out all pieces, grouping by map area. Fold along lines, where indicated. Glue the tabs as labeled, being careful to glue each tab to its corresponding place in the plan. We recommend testing the loca- tion and folds prior to applying glue. 4. To close the map, folding the sides before folding in the center is recommended. Now you’re ready to plan your Disneyland trip! Please Note: When cutting with scissors and working with any of the materials listed above, adult participation and supervision is recommended. © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar Sheet Number: A Smugglers Run Run Smugglers Autopia Autopia : Rise the Resistance of Astro Orbitor Jungle Cruise Jungle Mad Tea Party Mad Tea Minnie’s House Minnie’s Space Mountain Mountain Space Splash Mountain Mountain Splash t’s a small world” a small world” t’s Peter Pan’s Flight Flight Pan’s Peter Haunted Mansion Goofy’s Playhouse Goofy’s Playhouse Tarzan’s Treehouse Tarzan’s Main Street Station Station Main Street Disneyland Railroad Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Wild Toad’s Mr. Gadget’s Go Coaster Go Coaster Gadget’s Alice in Wonderland Alice in Wonderland Casey Jr. Circus Train Train Circus Casey Jr. Disneyland Monorail Matterhorn Bobsleds Matterhorn Mark Twain Riverboat Riverboat Mark Twain King Arthur Carrousel Sleeping BeautySleeping Castle Horse-Drawn Car Street Pirates of the Caribbean of Pirates Indiana Jones™ Adventure Jones™ Indiana Pinocchio’s Daring Journey Journey Daring Pinocchio’s Dumbo the Flying Elephant Elephant Dumbo the Flying Storybook Land Canal Boats Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Spin Car Toon Rabbit’s Roger Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Snow White’s Enchanted Wish White’s Snow Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Railroad Thunder Mountain Big Star Wars Star Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Finding Mickey’s House and Meet MickeyMickey’s Falcon: Millenium Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room Enchanted Room Disney’s Tiki Walt Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Railway Runaway Mickey and Minnie’s Star Tours — The Adventures Continue — The Adventures Tours Star The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Winnie the Pooh of Adventures The Many DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Number: B © Disney Nemo Mad Tea Party SW D Space Mountain B SW B SW A Alice Alice C SW Space Mountain A Mountain Space Astro Orbiter Orbiter Matterhorn Star Tours Star Train B Minnie’s House B Castle B F2 Station B Story Castle F B Dumbo © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Number: C © Disney A A Story Story Dumbo F1 Castle E Castle A Station Station Castle A Goofy’s House Goofy’s Tiki Room Tiki Disneyland Train A Train Disneyland Mickey’s House and Meet Mickey Meet and House Mickey’s and Tarzan’s Treehouse Treehouse Tarzan’s and Indiana Jones™ Adventure Adventure Jones™ Indiana Big Thunder B Falcon Millenium B B Smugglers Run Mark Twain B Pirates A BT A A Pirates A Smugglers Run Run Smugglers Mark Twain Twain Mark Haunted Mansion Haunted Rise of the Resistance the of Rise Splash Mountain Splash © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Number: 1 © Disney Disneyland Train © Disney Main Street Station Disneyland Train A Train B © Disney Station Station A B glue to back of Space Astro Orbitor Mountain Star Tours — The Adventures Continue Space Mountain © Disney © Disney glue Astro Orbitor TOMORROWLAND © Disney Star Tours glue to Star Tours Astro Blasters Matterhorn © Disney © Disney Space Mountain B Space Mountain A Astro Blasters Astro Blasters Blasters Blasters Astro back of glue to glue to King Arthur Carrousel © Disney Autopia Finding Nemo F1 © Disney F2 Submarine Voage Matterhorn Nemo © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Number: 2 © Disney STAR WARS: GALAXY’S EDGE © Disney Disney Millenium Disney © © © Disney Falcon glue to © Disney glue to Rise of the Resistance back of Smugglers Run Smugglers Run back of Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run Rise A B ship Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance NEW ORLEANS SQUARE CRITTER COUNTRY glue to Pirates Disney © Disney © Pirates Pirates © Disney A B Haunted Mansion Pirates of the Caribbean © Disney Splash Mountain Haunted Mansion Splash Mountain © Disney © TM Lucasfilm 2021 © Disney/Pixar DISNEYLAND POP-UP MAP Sheet Number: 3 © Disney Chip ‘n Dale Treehouse TOONTOWN Minnie’s House Goofy’s Playhouse Goofy’s of © Disney back to glue Mickey’s & Minnie’s Runaway Railway © Disney © Disney Goofy’s House Mickey’s House Mickey’s House and Meet Mickey Minnie’s House and Meet Mickey “it’s a small world” FANTASYLAND Mad Tea Party Alice in Wonderland © Disney © Disney © Disney SW SW SW A SW B C D Alice Mad Tea Party Casey Jr. Circus Train place this wherever you’d © Disney © Disney like! • 3) Indiana Jones Proof
CHAPTER EIGHT Hollywood vs. History In my frst semester of graduate school, every student in my program was required to choose a research topic. It had to be related in some way to modern Chinese history, our chosen course of study. I didn’t know much about China back then, but I did know this: if I chose a boring topic, my life would be miserable. So I came up with a plan. I would try to think of the most exciting thing in the world, then look for its historical counterpart in China. My little brainstorm lasted less than thirty seconds, for the answer was obvious: Indiana Jones. To a white, twenty-something-year-old male from American sub- urbia, few things were more exciting in life than the thought of the man with the bullwhip. To watch the flms was to expe- rience a rush of boyish adrenaline every time. Somehow, I was determined to carry that adrenaline over into my research. On the assumption that there were no Chinese counterparts to Indiana Jones, I posed the only question that seemed likely to yield an answer: How did the Chinese react to the foreign archaeologists who took antiquities from their lands? Te answer to that question proved far more complex than I ever could have imagined. I was so stunned by what I discov- ered in China that I decided to read everything I could about Western expeditions in the rest of the world, in order to see how they compared to the situation in China. Tis book is the result.

HOW LEGO CONSTRUCTS A CROSS-PROMOTIONAL FRANCHISE WITH VIDEO GAMES by David Wooten A Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master of Arts in Media Studies at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee August 2013 ABSTRACT HOW LEGO CONSTRUCTS A CROSS-PROMOTIONAL FRANCHISE WITH VIDEO GAMES by David Wooten The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 2013 Under the Supervision of Professor Michael Newman The purpose of this project is to examine how the cross-promotional Lego video game series functions as the site of a complex relationship between a major toy manufacturer and several media conglomerates simultaneously to create this series of licensed texts. The Lego video game series is financially successful outselling traditionally produced licensed video games. The Lego series also receives critical acclaim from both gaming magazine reviews and user reviews. By conducting both an industrial and audience address study, this project displays how texts that begin as promotional products for Hollywood movies and a toy line can grow into their own franchise of releases that stills bolster the original work.

We are listening to the voice, character development, and delivery no matter what monologue you choose. SCAR Mufasa’s death was a terrible tragedy; but to lose Simba, who had barely begun to live... For me it is a deep personal loss. So, it is with a heavy heart that I assume the throne. Yet, out of the ashes of this tragedy, we shall rise to greet the dawning of a new era... in which lion and hyena come together, in a great and glorious future! MUFASA Look Simba. Everything the light touches is our kingdom. A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here - and will rise with you as the new king. Everything exists in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance, and respect for all creatures-- Everything is connected in the great Circle of Life. YOUNG SIMBA Hey Uncle Scar, guess what! I'm going to be king of Pride Rock. My Dad just showed me the whole kingdom, and I'm going to rule it all. Heh heh. Hey, Uncle Scar? When I'm king, what will that make you? {beat} YOUNG NALA Simba, So, where is it? Better not be any place lame! The waterhole? What’s so great about the waterhole? Ohhhhh…..
