It was considered that in a predominantly rural country like Pakistan, reliable village statistics should be available and it Is hoped that the Village list. will·form the b;:;_;;.i:i for the continued collection of such statistics. A summary table of the totals for each tehsil showing its area to the nearest square mile, and its population and th,~ number of houses to the nearest hundred is given on page I together with the page number on which each tehsil begins. The general village table. which has been compiled district-wise and arranged tehsil·wise, appears on page 3 et seq. Witilin each tehsil t.he Revenue Kanungo holqos are $hown according to their ord2r in the census records. Punjab. Column c shows the particulars of local details supplied by the Deputy Commissioners. In describing these details the undermentioned abbreviations have been used :- I. Sen. For Primary School, Maktlb. ctc. 2. M. Sch. For Middle School or Junior Madra.ssah, 3. H.Sch. For High School or Madrassah. 4. Dis. For Dispensary. 5. R. Dis. For Rural Dispensary. 6. Sub.Dis. For SubsidIsed Dispensary. 7. Hos. For Hospita I. B. P. O. For Post Office. 9. P. S. For Police Station. 10. Rly. For Railway Station. II. T. W. For Tube Well. It is based on iflfvnnJti00 furnished by the Charge Superintendents and may not agree wIth the total Jrea for the district as available with the Survey of Pakistan. Columns e (lnd f have been fi lied If I from the Charge and Household summaries prepared by the Charge Superintendents under the supervision of the District Census Officer.s- The population figures and the number of houses entered therein are to the nearest ten.     WATER SUPPLY & SANITATION 149 WATER SUPPLY & SANITATION VISION To improve quality of life of the people of Punjab through provision of safe drinking water and sanitation coverage to the entire community. POLICY This important social sector assumes the policy of provision of safe and potable drinking water, sanitation and coverage of the entire community particularly in barani and brackish areas. Emphasis has been laid on encouraging Participatory Management - Community mobilization in project. Coverage will be provided to the rural areas through encouragement of integrated rural water supply and sanitation schemes. Waste water treatment plants will be provided for improving environmental pollution and protecting Water Bodies. STRATEGIC INITIATIVES / NEW INTERVENTIONS ¾ 993 water supply and sanitation schemes have been conceived for the year 2008-09 with a total financial outlay of Rs.8000 million. Execution of these interventions will result into substantial improvement in the population coverage. ¾ A special package has been reflected in the MTDF 2008-09 under “Community based Sanitation Program”. By implementation of this project there will be visible improvement in the sanitation, particularly in Rural Areas and Small Towns. ¾ MTDF 2008-09 provides “Block Allocation” for various components of the Sector. The schemes against these blocks will be identified through participation of the local communities. ¾ In order to ensure equitable distribution of supplies and for water conservation, water metering concept is being introduced in the rural areas. This intervention will control wastage of water and will lead to the sustainability of the schemes. ¾ Presently there is a huge disparity amongst districts regarding the resource provisions. This imbalance is being minimized by providing more funds to the deprived/low profile districts as defined in MICS.

There are different casts living in Minawli but the majority living people are consisting of Niazai tribe. This is one of the strong tribes of Pathans. Their culture and language differs a lot from other people. This is never discussed in dateils at any forum. One or two articles can be found in newspapers but not a detailed thesis or book is found on this topic. This is the reason; this topic was chosen for a research work. Although the history of Mianwali district is explored and worked for many times yet the cultural aspects remained in dark. A less worked area which is never been discussed, could bring a research material to the field of Pakistan Studies and cultural anthropology. It will encourage others to explore their culture which we are forgetting and merging with the western culture. This work highlights the cultural aspects of Niazai tribe specifically. The research style is followed by the steps taken in the Cultural Anthropology of Connard Phillip Kottak. Niazai people of Mianwali are very hospitable and respect its guests. But their language contains an element of satire so the habitants of that area are used to it and reply other person in a mocking manner. It is creates humor among them.
