RESEARCH INTERESTS

Managing design freedom in multi-scale design (from molecular to reduced-order models) to facilitate the integrated design of materials, product and design process chains; facilitating value creation in global, distributed, networked, IT-enabled environments.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Farrokh Mistree, L.A. Comp Chair, received his PhD from the , Berkeley in 1974. Prior to his current position, he was the Associate Chair of the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at – Savannah. He was also the Founding Director, Systems Realization Laboratory at Georgia Education Tech. He has co-authored two textbooks, one monograph and more PhD, Engineering than 325 technical papers dealing with the design of mechanical and University of California, structural systems; ships and aircraft. This includes more than 225 Berkeley, 1974 refereed publications and more than 30 papers that deal exclusively MS, Engineering with education. His design experience spans the areas of mechanical, University of California, aeronautical, structural, and industrial engineering and he has taught Berkeley, 1970 BTech (Hons.), Naval courses in engineering design, naval architecture, solid mechanics, Architecture operations research and computer science.
