Pope Page | 3 Major accomplishments: • Successfully supervised efforts to acquire sponsorships which contribute to the creation and enhancement of student programs and scholarships from corporate/individual sponsors (annually unless otherwise indicated) o Black Male Summit -- $21,000 (programming) o Career Development -- $7500 (programming) o Swinging Fore Scholarship Golf Tournament -- $22,000 (student retention scholarships) o Office of Diversity and Inclusion -- $8500 (programming) o First Generation Endowed Scholarship -- $7428 (student scholarship) o Office of Global Affairs -- $26, 800 (including endowed accounts) (scholarships) o Vet Hero -- $2500 (scholarships for veterans) o Student Life/Parents’ Association Endowment -- $17,750 (scholarships) o Endeavor Games -- $160,000 • Selected by the Oklahoma State Regents’ for Higher Education Chancellor to be a member of the Complete College America Oklahoma Team (Equity Team Lead) • Collaborated with the Division of Academic Affairs to create a cohesive co- curricular learning experience and created a system to capture those learning outcomes through the Student Transformative Learning Record (STLR) • Coordinated the institution’s participation in the Comprehensive Student Record Project, which was funded by the Lumina Foundation in partnership with AACRAO and NASPA (only 12 institutions nationally were a part of the project) • Collaborated with the Provost to create Project Persist, a program focused on improving retention for students who based upon their pre-college characteristics typically have higher levels of attrition traditionally. The first cohort performed at a higher level than their peers (10 percentage points) • Served as the campus co-chair of the reaccreditation process with The Higher Learning Commission (2012) which was successful in reaffirming our accreditation • Served on the HLC Assurance Review Team (2016 – 17) which was successful in reaffirming our accreditation • Orchestrated programs to enhance underserved students transition to college through collaborations with TRiO programs across the States of Oklahoma and Texas • Supervised the creation of divisional Student Employee Assessment Team which was instrumental in creating and assessing learning outcomes in student work • Supervised the development and implementation of Internship UCO to provide students with more practical learning experiences on campus • Led the institution in the improvement of its six year graduation rate by five percent in three years (2014 – 16) • Revamped the new student orientation office to enhance student college transition and overall success M. Pope Page | 4 • Led efforts to increase the diversity of the student body through recruitment and retention efforts (42% of student body are ethnic minorities; 46% of students are first generation; 38% of students are Pell recipients) • Implemented an imaging system for records retention and data management which improved the level and efficiency of services to students (OnBase) • Created a graduate assistantship program for the division which was instrumental in expanding student programming and services (12 positions created) • Enhanced Web-based services for students (admissions, enrollment, financial aid, bursar) to expand student access to critical information for success • Supervised the development of a computer upgrades (repair/replacement) program for the division to provide employees with the ability to better serve students • Partnered with Academic Affairs to increase the number of students studying abroad by over 25% over a three year period • Supervised the creation of “Bronchos Helping Bronchos” which is a student emergency grant program which helps approximately 350 students per year • Supervised the implementation of the Women’s Center to enhance services and support for female students. • Supervised the submission of the application and subsequent recognition of UCO in the Community Engagement Classification category of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching (one of only 82 institutions recognized in 2015) • Supervised the creation and implementation of the Black Male Summit and the Black Male Initiative programs, which enhanced matriculation pipeline efforts and improved Black male success rates on campus (Cohort outperformed their peers by 20 percentage points in fall to fall retention) (Recognized at the national level – 2017 American Association of State Colleges and Universities’ Excellence and Innovation Awards, Student Success and College Completion Award) • Collaborated with the Latino Faculty and Staff Association in the implementation of the Hispanic Success Initiative which achieved retention rates of 75%+ each year • Collaborated with the Native American Faculty and Staff Association in the implementation of the Native American Student Success Initiative • Provided leadership in university student recruitment which led to multiple years of record freshmen and transfer enrollments (three highest fall enrollments in institutional history, 2015 – 2017) • Led the selection and implementation of a vendor to provide student health services to students • Supervised the increased staffing and programming of the VetHero office to expand services to veterans (Campus is consistently highlighted in The Military Times as a top 25 best
