Age : A partir de 5 ans Nombre de joueurs : 2 à 4 Durée : 15 minutes But du jeu : Rassembler le plus de trésors possible. Préparation du jeu : - Les 6 pions magiques (faces cachées) et le pion lutin malin (face découverte) sont posés sur le chemin à raison de un pion par case. - Les jetons trésors sont placés faces cachées à l’écart du parcours et forment le pot. (A 2 joueurs on utilise 6 séries de 3 trésors semblables ; à 3 joueurs : 7 séries et à 4 joueurs : 8 séries) - Chaque joueur reçoit 2 chapeaux de sorcière (un jaune et un rouge) qu’il place devant lui. Déroulement du jeu : On joue dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre, les joueurs font avancer le même lutin malin sur le parcours. Le plus jeune joueur lance le dé : Le dé indique une face chiffrée : Le joueur avance le lutin du nombre de cases indiquées par le dé. Il retourne alors le pion qui occupait cette même case et le pose face découverte sur la case qu’il vient de quitter. 2 1 - Le pion retourné est un coffre fort : le joueur prend un jeton trésor dans le pot et le place devant lui face visible.     Introduction The Hopeful, Hyperbolic Countess d’Aulnoy Who was this exceptional woman, Marie-Catherine Le Jumel de Barneville, Comtesse d’Aulnoy, pioneer of the literary fairy tale in France? Why is much of her life a mystery, even though she was a major writer and socialite in Paris during the 1690s and the beginning of the eighteenth century? What brought her to write what she allegedly considered trifling tales, “bagatelles,” which nevertheless drew the admiration of aristocratic and bourgeois readers and were turned later into popular chapbooks and books for children? Why did she coin the term conte de fées and more or less initiate a fairy-tale vogue during the absolutist years of Louis XIV? Born in 1652 into a wealthy aristocratic family in Barneville-La Bertrand, Normandy, Marie-Catherine had a close relationship with her mother and her maternal aunt, who educated her and told her numerous folk tales. More than likely, she also heard stories from her nannies and servants. In addition, she became proficient in English and Spanish and demonstrated a broad knowledge of medieval French and Spanish literature. Her mother married her off at age thirteen to François de la Motte, Baron d’Aulnoy, thirty years her senior and a notorious gambler and libertine. By the time Marie-Catherine turned eighteen, she had given birth to three children. In 1669, due to the baron’s financial difficulties and dissolute character, his relationship with Marie-Catherine and her mother, Madame Gudanne (who had remarried after her first husband’s death and changed her name), deteriorated to the point that mother and daughter implicated Baron d’Aulnoy in a crime of high treason (lèse majesté), punishable by death.

In the first, after briefly stating what had given occasion to it, I gave the germs of the theory which I afterwards developed in the Tales and Popular Fictions. [a] The second contained the following paragraph: "I never heard of any one who read it that was not pleased with it. It was translated into German as soon as it appeared, and was very favourably received. Goethe thought well of it. Dr. Jacob Grimm--perhaps the first authority on these matters in Europe--wrote me a letter commending it, and assuring me that even to him it offered something new; and I was one Christmas most agreeably surprised by the receipt of a letter from Vienna, from the celebrated orientalist, Jos Von Hammer, informing me that it had been the companion of a journey he had lately made to his native province of Styria, and had afforded much pleasure and information to himself and to some ladies of high rank and cultivated minds in that country.

    Le grand critique Antonio Candido raconte une anecdote significative de ses années universitaires, celle d’un examen oral administré par le grand géogra- phe Pierre Monbeig, alors enseignant à l’université de São Paulo. Celui-ci lui pose la question suivante : « Comment s’appelle le petit vent qui souffle sur le littoral au sud de São Paulo ? » Aucune réponse. « Regardez par la fenêtre et dites-moi à quel système hydrographique appartient la colline que vous voyez là. » Devant le silence de son étudiant, Monbeig lui demanda de parler du Massif Central. L’étudiant fournit alors des explications détaillées. Monbeig le fixa, puis déclara : « N’avez-vous pas honte de connaître si bien des choses qui ne vous serviront à rien et d’ignorer à ce point votre pays ? » Cette anecdote pourrait résumer un des rôles éminents reconnus à la France, celui d’attirer les intellectuels brésiliens vers le Brésil. C’est ce rôle en effet que les intellectuels brésiliens se sont plu et se plaisent encore à reconnaître à la France. Pour mesurer l’importance de ces regards croisés, rien de mieux que de par- courir la grande bibliothèque de ces échanges du xvie siècle jusqu’à nos jours. Il faut savoir gré à l’Adpf d’avoir saisi l’occasion de « Brésil, Brésils », année du Brésil en France, pour rappeler cette proximité intellectuelle, cette latinité commune qui continue chaque jour de s’enrichir de nouveaux chapitres.
