Arrival by train

Your destination is “Hof Hbf”. http://www.deutschebahn.com/en/start.html Buying railway tickets In you can buy railway tickets in advance at a special price. These savings fares are only available for one particular train connection. Please note that they are NOT valid on any other trains! If the train you have booked for is delayed or cancelled, you should contact the customer service staff at the station or inside the train. Standard fare tickets can be used on all trains of the same or a lower category. The most common train categories are ICE (Inter Express), IC (Inter City) and IRE/RE (regional trains). Please check in advance if your ticket is valid for the train you wish to travel with. You can buy your ticket online by credit card and print it at home. Since you have to show the credit card to the conductor, please make sure that you carry it with you.

Changing trains If you have to catch a connecting train and you notice that the train you are on is delayed, you should inform the conductor. In some cases your connecting train may wait for you.

From to Hof Frankfurt Airport has a long distance railway station called “Frankfurt () Fernbf.” It takes you between 4:15 to 5:15 hours to get to Hof. You will have to change trains once or twice. When you change for Hof in Würzburg or Nürnberg, please be aware that the trains consist of two parts, with only one of them going to Hof. You should check the display at the front of the train (or inside, above the doors) to make sure you are in the right part of the train.

From Airport to Hof Take the shuttle to Hbf. (Bus Number 635, it departs every 20 minutes from both terminals). Online Timetable: http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/journey-planner/timetable-book/index.html, then enter 635.

There are direct or one-change connections from Freising station to Hof approx. every two hours. The journey to Hof takes about 3 to 4 hours. The most suitable ticket is called “Bayern Ticket” (23 €/person) which can be used for the following train categories: ALX, RE and IRE. The “Bayern Ticket” is also valid for the shuttle bus from the airport to Freising. You can buy it at the ticket machines at the airport or online in advance.

From Nürnberg Airport to Hof Take the underground train “U2” for Röthenbach and get off at Nürnberg Central Station (“Hauptbahnhof”). Direct trains to Hof depart once every hour and take 1:40 hours. We advise you to purchase a “Bayern Ticket” (23 €/person). Please note that the trains consist of two parts, with only one of them going to Hof. Please check the display at the front of the train (or inside, above the doors) to make sure you are in the right part of the train.
