An international exhibition with added value is worth more

Surpassed all expectations, confirmed its position, broadened the range of applica- tions and sharpened its profile—this brief description sums up perfectly the enormous success of electronica 2006. 77,748 trade visitors, 72% of them in management positions, and 2,961 exhibitors, 60% of them from countries other than , clearly document electronica’s importance and strength in the industry. Its extremely international character, the quality of its visitors and its strong focus on rapidly growing applications confirm yet again its uncontested position as the world’s leading trade fair for electronics. When it comes to establishing new business ties, maintaining existing ones, preparing for post-fair business, conducting direct transactions, improving their company’s image or just exchanging information and ideas—as in the past, exhibitors gave electronica 2006 top marks in all categories. And for a good reason: electronica makes it easy for them to reach these objectives. After all, the quality, quantity and internationality of the visitors speak for themselves. One of the main reasons for electronica’s overwhelming success is that it gives visitors a complete and comprehensive look at the complex and multi- faceted world of electronics. More decision-makers, developers and buyers

The share of visitors with decision-making expertise (94% decision-makers, 32% of them a strong influence) and in management positions (72%) clearly corroboratee lectronica’s importance as a decision-makers’ exhibition. Once again there were considerable increases in the share of visitors who primarily work in the development (29%), design (16%) and engineering (10%) of electronic applications and components. The significant increase in the share of buyers (16%) among visitors also underscores the enormous esteem and significance that electronica enjoys throughout the industry.

Considerable increase in foreign visitors Exhibition received top marks

The share of international visitors was up 45% compared to 2004. The United States, Central Europe, Russia, Israel, China, Japan, India and Brazil all accounted for sizeable increases. It is remarkable how many visitors gave the fair top marks for the scope and completeness (97%) and for the transparency of the exhibits (86%) and, in another key category, for the quality of the visitor information (90%). In other words: electronica is and shall remain the electronics industry’s impressive top event.
