SFPD, SF Department of Emergency Management, The SFMTA/Muni Twin Peaks Tunnel will be closed for construction for two months AlertSF, Department of Homeland Security, continuously starting Monday, June 25th, 2018. TMASF Connects Emergency Factsheet Overview of Service Impact • There will be no K Ingleside, L Taraval, or M Ocean View trains running in Muni Media Metro between West Portal and Embarcadero in both directions for two months KRON 4, KCBS, KGO, starting Monday, June 25th. KTVU, NBC Bay Area, • Buses will substitute for the M Ocean View and L Taraval lines. K Ingleside trains SF Gate will run a shorter route between Sloat/St. Francis and Balboa Park. • During weekday morning rush hour (6:00 AM- 10:00 AM), Muni customers Commute transferring from M buses or K trains to BART at Balboa Park can receive a free BART SFMTA Muni, BART, SF single-ride ticket for travel downtown through Embarcadero BART Station. Bay Ferry, Golden Gate Transit, AC Transit, • Forest Hill and West Portal stations will be closed for service. All outbound trains Caltrain, SamTrans, VTA, entering Castro Station heading outbound will switch back and head inbound. CHP, Caltrans District 4, • Only S Shuttles and T Third trains will operate underground between Castro and 511.org Church stations. Chair’s Report – INFORMATION Chair Peskin reported that in addition to helping elect President-elect Biden and Vice- President-elect Harris, San Francisco voters looked favorably on transportation funding measures on November 3rd. He added that locally, San Francisco approved Proposition A, the Health and Homelessness, Parks and Streets Bond. He said that this $487.5 million general obligation bond included $41.5 million to repave and reconstruct roads, rehabilitate, and make seismic improvements to street structures and plazas and to install and renovate curb ramps. He said that there are also funds for re-building parks and open spaces, including safe pedestrian access across the city. Chair Peskin reported that regionally, voters in San Francisco along with all three Caltrain district counties, including Santa Clara and San Mateo, passed Measure RR by over 2/3 approval which is the threshold for the first-ever dedicated funding source for Caltrain. He added that the one-eighth cent sales tax for Caltrain will provide a lifeline to the railroad which is struggling with severe fare revenue loss associated with low levels of ridership during the pandemic. He shared that the funds will also help off-set SFMTA’s obligations to provide operating support, benefitting Muni. He added that the funds will provide a way to build toward Caltrain’s future as an electrified service.

    MUNICIPAL TRANSPORTATION AGENCY BOARD OF DIRECTORS CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO RESOLUTION No. 07-106 WHEREAS, On April 7, 2007, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) initiated regular daily service on the T-Third Street light-rail line; and WHEREAS, Simultaneous service changes were implemented on the J-Church and N-Judah light rail lines, and motor coach lines 9X, 9AX and 9BX Bayshore Express, 10- Townsend, 15-Third Street and 54-Felton; and WHEREAS, Numerous passenger letters, phone calls and e-mails have been received by the MTA and the 311 Call Center requesting the restoration of several aspects of prior Municipal Railway service; and WHEREAS, MTA staff have reviewed these complaints and developed recommendations for service adjustments to improve reliability and overall service quality for Municipal Railway passengers; and WHEREAS, The service changes recommended below are consistent with the consolidated Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) certified and published in 1998 with respect to the Third Street Initial Operating Segment and related services; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the MTA Board of Directors authorizes MTA staff to implement service adjustments and initiate new service as follows: J-Church: Restore service between Balboa Park Station and an inbound terminal at Embarcadero Station during all regular hours of service; N-Judah: Restore service between Ocean Beach and the Caltrain/4th and King Station during all regular hours of service; K-Ingleside and T-Third Street: Consolidate operation of both light rail lines along a continuous route between Balboa Park Station and Sunnydale Station; S-Castro Shuttle: Restore service as warranted during peak periods between Castro Street and Embarcadero Stations.

Major Muni Service Expansion During the COVID-19 Shelter-In-Place Order Saturday, Aug. 22: Extend and improve frequencies on several targeted bus routes to continue to support essential trips and physical distancing and restart modified Muni Metro service. These service changes will support the city’s economic recovery by providing more connections to neighborhood commercial districts as businesses reopen. With the restart of Muni Metro, we can repurpose Muni buses that had been operating in place of rail lines to add service on other routes. Putting Muni Metro back in service will free up buses currently in use for the L Taraval, M Ocean View, N Judah and T Third to serve additional routes and improve service frequency systemwide. Given the distancing restraints and to increase capacity in the subway, the SFMTA will adjust Metro lines entering the tunnels.
