    ETTINGTON PARISH COUNCIL Minutes of the Ordinary Meeting Held on 13 January 2021 Present: D Clarke, J Collins, R Hawksworth, J Henry, I Houghton, D Hughes, R Smith and R Whitfield of Ettington Parish Council In attendance: S Furniss - Clerk, Cllr I Seccombe- WCC, Cllr P-A O’Donnell – SDC and approximately 12 members of the public. 1 Apologies for Absence Cllr Lambert’s apologies, due to ill health, were accepted. 2 Declaration of Disclosure Pecuniary Interest None declared. 3 To Confirm Minutes It was resolved that the minutes of the Parish Council Ordinary Meeting held on 9 December 2020 were a true record. 4 Community Centre Update Cllr Hughes reported that the Community Centre remains closed. No meetings have been held since last reported. 5 Warwickshire County Council/Stratford District Council update Cllr Seccombe reported that much of the focus had been on Covid 19 as follows: Stratford Covid Lateral Flow Testing Centre is now open and sited at the RSC Other Place. Bookings should be made on line. Covid Vaccination Centres are now up and running at Stratford Hospital, Wellesbourne, Studley and Southam’s is due to open shortly. Within 2 weeks a large vaccination centre will be opened at the Stoneleigh Agricultural Ground. Pharmacy vaccination will commence in February. Infection rate remains high and hospitals are under pressure Laptops and wi-fi dongles have been purchased to facilitate home learning by those who do not have access to suitable resources. Cllr Hawksworth raised a query regarding nursery funding and Cllr Seccombe asked that this be directed via email.

As our editorial photograph shows, the King and Queen certainly seemed to enjoy themselves. Ladbroke also held a very successful Garden Party at the Old Rectory which raised £1300 in aid of Ladbroke Church. Congratulations to John and Sharon Hancock who are joint recipients of this year’s Spirit of Harbury award. This award is well deserved by both of them for the contribution they have made to our village. Abi Hunt’s photograph shows them with the award which they received at a recent Saturday coffee morning. Both Harbury and Ladbroke will be welcoming Nikki Moon as the new curate this month, we hope that she and her family will soon feel at home here.
