Enka Schools Pe Newsletter ENKA SCHOOLS PE NEWSLETTER Newsletter No: 2 ( 24 October – 14 November 2016 ) Page 1 GENERAL INFORMATION We made a corner of “NATIONAL TEAM STARS” for all student athletes who have taken part in national team in their sports branch. You may see the corner on the second floor. We will keep updating the information as we have more national student athletes in the future. ELITE ATHLETE FOLLOW-UP SYSTEM Elite Athlete Follow-Up system is designed for high school student athletes who have busy training and match programs outside of the school. Physical education teachers have designed the program. The purpose of the program is to support students when they are away from the school for competitions and long-term camps. We will follow up on 31 students in 10 different sports branches. PE teachers and high school principal introduced the program to the students during a pizza party. ENKA SCHOOLS PE NEWSLETTER Newsletter No: 2 ( 24 October – 14 November 2016 ) Page 2 TRACK&FIELD We organized the 13th Republic Run on Tuesday 25. 156 students in Grade 4 and 5 took part in the run. We gave medals and Turkish flags to all students who took part in the rub. Name of top 3 students and their time records can be found below. We organized the Republic Youth Competition on Thursday, October 27 at Enka Schools athleticism field. High schools in Sarıyer district took part in the competition. Both boys and girls teams took part in the competition. Enka High School girls’ team got second place in the district; whereas boys’ team became champion in the district. Sarıyer district governor Gürsoy Osman Bilgin, District National Education Director İbrahim Tahmaz, Youth Sport District Manager Namık Şişman and High School Principal Erkan Gültekin took part in the ceremony. Students play matches at lunch time. The team was defeated at the last period although they played quite well at the first 3 periods. ENKA 36 B.ŞEHİR ANTSPOR 45 LITTLE BASKETBALL Little basketball team played their first preparation match against Altıneller Sport Club. The team won Altıneller Sport Club 41-25. Students’ promising performance at the match excited us for their future. They beat Altıneller Sport Club 18-11. We congratulate our students. MINI BOYS’ BASKETBALL TEAM SOCCER Enka Schools High School Girls Soccer team attended the “Girls on the Field” soccer tournament organized in Beylerbeyi Field on October 16-17 and 23-24. The team became the leader in the group with 3 victories. At the finals, they got the third place and received their medals and cup. In addition to this, the team was selected “The most gentlemen team” in the tournament. Grade 8 Pelin Göksoy became the “Top Goal Scorer”. Well Done girls! Little team beat Kazım Karabekir Middle School 6-1 on Thursday, October 21. LITTLE BOYS’ SOCCER TEAM TABLE TENNIS We have established star and little table tennis teams by considering table tennis trainer’s observations at classes, clubs and after school activities. Students started trainings on Wednesday afternoon. They will participate in tournaments organized in İstanbul, Sarıyer district. Enka students Nehir Arık, Nehir Kaşıkçı ,Kayra Poyraz Hasbal, Ali Atay, Beliz Keskin, Mine İren, Emin Ali Nil, Can Gürevin, Selim Sakarya, Efe Yılmazcan, Eren Bal, Murat Gültekin, Deni Teminyan, Can Sökmen Okay, Cenk Kazmir, Zehra Irman Eren, John Emir Merciyan, Emre Özkazanç, Mehmeh Arman Onur, Can Çatmaz, Harun Aslan, Nil Tulgan took part in the competitions 4 schools participated in the competitions. All participants received their medals.
