As the name itself suggests, the main topic of the Conference and the focus of the papers contributed, is interculturality together with all of its aspects by which AP of Vojvodina is well known and recognizable. We would also like to thank the reviewers of the individual papers, reviewers of the collection on the whole, and, last but not least, to the authors of the contributions, for their cooperation, patience and under- standing, as well as for their commitment to complete this endeavour successfully. It is important to note that two of the three hypotheses have been confirmed and one has been denied. The basic hypothesis has been confirmed, the majority of texts deal with mainstream topics, neglecting authors and approaches that support alternative cultural directions, creators and events. Also, it was confirmed that texts dealing with multiculturalism and interculturalism, or the cultures of minority communities of Vojvodina, are almost completely deficient in newspaper Dnevnik. From the other side, the only hypothesis that turned out to be incorrect is that Dnevnik’s journalists paid more attention to texts to political and public figures than cultural creators. Indeed, more space has been given to personalities from the world of culture than politicians. Key words: media discourse, multiculturalism, minority communities, Dnevnik Наша Покрајина у свом највишем правном акту промовише мултикултурно друштво. „Аутономна Покрајина Војводина, у оквиру својих права и дуж- ности, доприноси остваривању Уставом зајамчене потпуне равноп- равности Мађара, Словака, Хрвата, Црногораца, Румуна, Рома, Буњеваца, Русина, Македонаца и припадника других бројчано мањих националних мањина – националних заједница који у њој живе, са припадницима српског народа.“ (члан 6. Статута Аутономне Покрајине Војводине). „Вишејезичност, вишекултуралност и слобода вероисповести представљају вредности од посебног значаја за Аутономну Покрајину Војводину.“ (члан 7. Статута АПВ). 1 Предавање по позиву на 3. међународној научној конференцији Интеркул- туралност у образовању 6-8. октобра 2017. у организацији Педагошког за- вода Војводине и Филозофског факултета Универзитета у Новом Саду. 12 INTERKULT 2017 – VOLUME 1 Каква је данас медијска сцена Војводине? У Покрајини постоје штампани медији, електронски медији (радијске и телевизијске станице и портали) на српском и језицима националних заједница. Постоје јавни медијски сервис (Радио-телевизија Војводине), као и бројни комерцијални медији, али и један број медија цивилног сек- тора (углавном такозвани црквени медији и то православне и като- личке цркве). Јавна медијска установа Радио-телевизија Војводине постоји од 1949, а дневни лист Дневник од 1942. Овај једини штам- пани дневни лист у Покрајини у власништву је компаније Дневник Војводина прес (55%), чији је власник Медија група Бакан2 (Мediengruppe Balkan GMBH) и компанија Дневник АД (45%). Пре но што будемо говорили о томе има ли мултикултуралности (према Пралица 2010) у листу Дневник, осврнимо се на нека прет- ходна истраживања на сличну тему, али у програмима Радио- телевизије Војводине. У питању је било истраживање3, односно анализа прилога из културе у централним информативним емисија- ма свих језичких редакција на програмима и Радија и Телевизије Војводине. Истраживање је, под окриљем Новосадске новинарске школе, објављено у децембру 2011. Циљеви тог истраживања били су: 1) како РТВ извештава о култури у главним информативним еми- сијама, 2) какви су програмски стандарди у домену културног иден- титета националних заједница Војводине и 3) има ли мултикултура- лизма у прилозима централних информативних емисија на свим језицима.     1 Ћирилица из нот дед: Cyrillic Script from a Sociolinguistic Perspective in Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia Aleksandra Salamurović (Jena)1 1. Introduction During 2012 and 2013 the question of script use in Serbia, specifically, the fact that Latin script prevails in public use, moved into the spotlight of public discussion, especially in multicultural Novi Sad (Salamurović 2015). After several months-long debates over scripts used on the building of the Center for Culture in Novi Sad, on bus displays and other public facilities, one creative citizen was obviously motivated to express their revolt by posting the following graffiti: Ћирилица из нот дед (“Cyrillics is not dead”), transcribing parts of English text into Serbian using the Cyrillic alphabet. On the other hand, in his current typological study on biscriptality in Slavic and non-Slavic languages, Slavist Daniel Bunčić proclaims in aphoristic form: “Monoscriptality can be cured - learn Cyrillic!” (Bunčić 2016a:16)2 emphasizing an additional value of learning and using the Cyrillic script. Besides both statements relating to Cyrillic script, they also have the common trait that they assign particular attitudes and values to the script. Those socio-cultural attributions are one of the most important features of the script and are of primary importance in selecting the script within biscriptal situations. Moreover, they are of particular interest for language policy and sociolinguistics of script. This paper will examine the current status of Cyrillic script in three South-Slavic countries: Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia3, the first two being biscriptal in the sense of what Bunčić typologically describes as bigraphism (one language using two scripts, Bunčić 2016c:54), and the last, Macedonia, being typologically monoscriptal but still dealing with two different scripts.

OPENING OF THE SESSION Mr Hoesung Lee, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), called the Forty-Fifth Session of the IPCC to order on Monday 28 March 2017 at 10 am at the Hotel Fiesta Americana in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The Chair of the IPCC welcomed the dignitaries and delegates and expressed gratitude to the Government of Mexico for hosting the meeting. In his opening statement, the Chair of the IPCC underscored the urgency and gravity of the work of the IPCC. He noted that the recent Statement on the State of the Global Climate released by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) confirmed that the year 2016 was the warmest on record. Global sea ice extent dropped more than 4 million square kilometers below average, an unprecedented anomaly, in November and in the High Arctic mean annual temperature of -0.1ºC was 6.5º above the 1961-1990 average. He underscored the need for science in a rapidly changing climate, to help understand the impacts of climate change, its risks, and options for addressing it.

    Biblioteca Municipală „B.P. Hasdeu” Valeriu RAŢĂ Valeriu Raţă a intrat în publicistica culturală cu o firească timiditate a intelectualului lipsit portret cultural din profil : de experienţa gazetărească. Avea însă privilegiul unei solide pregătiri filologice – tocmai aceasta garanta scrisului său apreciabile virtuţi precum corectitudinea şi claritatea frazei. Nu e de mirare că au reţinut atenţia cititorilor revistei BiblioPolis chiar primele sale cronici, de la diverse evenimente culturale din cadrul BM „B.P. Hasdeu”. Pentru că aceste lucrări excelau prin precizia relatării, cu tot „tacîmul” implicit: nume, fapte, amănunte semnificative, luări de atitudine, sugestii, concluzii etc. Cu trecerea anilor, colegul nostru şi-a lărgit marja de abordare / manevrare a subiectelor, diversificîndu-şi impresionant tematica, respectiv, genurile şi speciile gazetăreşti cultivate. A prins gustul prezentării cărţilor dragi, pe urmă s-a apucat şi de recenzarea unor volume puse la dispoziţie de cei mai diferiţi autori, editori sau donatori de cărţi. Apoi, „şi-a ascuţit pana” şi pentru realizarea unor portrete de contemporani: colegi de breaslă, recte, angajaţi ai Bibliotecii Municipale „B.P. Hasdeu”, dar şi scriitori, ziarişti, alte personalităţi ale culturii româneşti. Biblioteca Municipală: Mi se pare cu totul revelator faptul că, în aceste scrieri, V. Raţă se poate bucura de Biblioteca Municipală Biblioteca împlinirile altora; în plus, ştie a scoate în evidenţă resorturile acestor succese, respectiv, merite ale celor despre care îşi spune cuvîntul în BiblioPolis sau în alte reviste de cultură de la noi. ● portret din profil cultural Şi iată că, după cîţiva ani de muncă asiduă şi deseori inspirată la apariţia revistei al cărei angajat este, Valeriu Raţă adună acum o frumoasă recoltă de scrieri axate pe cultură – tematică ce reflectă o faţetă esenţială a activităţii desfăşurate de Echipa „Hasdeu”.

Regatul României Visul unirii tuturor românilor sub un singur steag a frământat mințile conducătorilor încă din cele mai vechi timpuri, dar alianțele militare și interesele de ordin comercial nu au fost în favoarea simplificării relațiilor dintre diferitele formațiuni statale. În vechime, țările românești au negociat protecția celor două mari imperii ale romanilor, apoi începând cu secolul al XIII-lea au întreținut legături de prietenie și ajutor mutual cu Polonia și Lituania. Din secolul al XV-lea, ca state vasale Imperiului Otoman dar sub protecția directă a Hanatului Crimeei, s-a pus problema formării unui eyalat turcesc comun. Proiectul a fost însă refuzat cu dârzenie, ca urmare a divergențelor de ordin religios. Ca o soluție de compromis, sultanii au permis independența religioasă a celor trei principate, în schimbul dependenței economice. Situația de criză a intervenit o dată cu revoluția și apoi războiul de independență purtat de greci și sârbi. Sub aripa ocrotitoare a Bisericii Ortodoxe Răsăritene, creștinii din toate țările Balcanice au ridicat la început glasul, apoi armele, cerând vehement ieșirea din situația de compromis religios. Ca rezultat, boierii și dragomanii greci au fost maziliți, iar mănăstirile filiale ale celor de la Muntele Athos au fost secularizate. În urma grecilor au rămas nenumăratele lor rude născute din alianțe cu casele boierești autohtone, practic aproape toată crema boierimii. Pentru a umple vidul administrativ rămas s-a hotărât instituirea unei locotenențe domnești, ajutată de o Adunare Constituantă a fruntașilor celor două țări. În ambele principate, toate sufragiile au fost întrunite în anul 1859 de Colonelul Alexandru Ioan Cuza, cu funcția de Ministru de Război, fost deputat de Galați și fost șef al Miliției de la Dunărea de Jos.

The task of the translator remains as difficult as ever in the face of translating foreign, often untranslatable concepts and structures. This paper takes a closer look at two translations of Ion Creanga’s ‘Amintiri din copilarie’, produced by Ana Cartianu (1978) and Valentin Sangereanu Junior and Valen Pumnul-Blaga (2009). Such an enterprise becomes problematic given the abundancy in terms associated with the life and customs of Romania’s countryside in the 19th century, making it all the more complicated to create a clear cut image of Creangă’s art for the foreign reader Key- words: translation, culture, identity, strategy, proverb. The coherence of the image is given by the visual identity and by the brand image, and the understanding of its meaning depends on the identification of different types of messages that contribute to the transcoding of the visual perceptions in verbal language.
