He graduated with high honors from the Indiana University School of Music with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music and an Outside Field (Spanish) in 2003 after writing a thesis titled “Resonances of Faulkner in La muerte de Artemio Cruz.” He began at Brown University’s Department of His- panic Studies in 2005 and received his Master’s Degree in 2008; the title of his major paper was “El realismo grotesco en Rayuela.” After receiving a competitive dissertation fellowship, Kyle began work on this dissertation in 2009 and completed it in November 2012. Kyle has taught Spanish at Brown University’s Department of Hispanic Studies and the College of the Holy Cross’s Department of Spanish.

Gutiérrez, Ph.D. Abstract The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the perpetuation of the Golden Age sexual discourse in contemporary Spanish plays that reimagine the figure of Don Juan. In order to conduct this transhistorical study, the plays selected written during the Golden Age are El Burlador de Sevilla, by Tirso de Molina, and No Hay Cosa Como Callar, by Pedro Calderon de la Barca. The contemporary plays are Johnny Tenorio, by Carlos Morton, D.J., by Jeronimo Lopez Mozo, and [email protected], by Jesus Campos Garcia. The theoretical frame used to study the perpetuation of sexual normativity follows the Bordieuan theories of different capitals; especifically, Catherine Hakim's concept of erotic capital is a key element used to understand the complex dynamics of sexual discourses through both historical periods. Las nueve de la mañana. VISTOS RESULTA: Mediante escrito presentado por el Licenciado José Noel Balmaceda Gómez, el día cuatro de Agosto del año dos mil cinco, a la una de la tarde, el condenado Medardo Manuel García Ortiz promovió acción de revisión contra la sentencia condenatoria dictada en su contra por el Juzgado Primero de Distrito del Crimen, Chinandega, a las tres y cincuenta y cinco minutos de la tarde del día treinta de Octubre del año dos mil uno, en la que se le condenó a la pena de quince años de prisión, por ser autor del delito de violación en perjuicio de la menor Jennifer del Carmen Ocampo Ruiz. Sentencia que se encuentra firme y con autoridad de cosa juzgada. Promueve su revisión al amparo de la causal número 2 y 5 del Arto. 337, por lo que por admitido se señaló audiencia para debatir sobre la acción intentada, poniéndosele en conocimiento al Ministerio Público para que hiciera uso de sus derechos y llegada la fecha señalada solamente se hizo presente el representante del Ministerio Público, no así el defensor nombrado por el accionante, por lo que se procedió a la celebración de la audiencia, por lo que; CONSIDERANDO UNICO: Mediante auto del día dieciséis de agosto del año dos mil cinco, a las ocho y cincuenta y cinco minutos de la mañana la Sala Penal de la Corte Suprema de Justicia, admite la revisión interpuesta por el condenado Medardo Manuel García Ortiz; se le brinda intervención de ley al Licenciado José Noel Balmaceda Gómez como defensor del accionante y se ordena la celebración de la audiencia oral y pública para el día Lunes veintidós de agosto del año dos mil cinco, a las diez de la mañana la cual se realizó al amparo del Art.
