Diploma Programme Tunku Kurshiah College © Diploma Programme Tunku Kurshiah College © Introduction and TKC History

Tunku Kurshiah College started as the Malay Girls College, which was situated in Batu 4, Jalan Damansara, . The establishment of this all-girls fully residential school was proposed by the former member of the Legislative Assembly, Dato’ Sheikh Ahmad Al-Haj during the 1939 State Council Meeting.

The main purpose of establishing the college was to provide a stable platform for girls who wanted to further their studies to high school as girls in those days were not given much opportunity to secondary and tertiary education. It was also to provide an incentive for Malay parents to give their daughters better education.

In April 1962, the Malay Girl’s College moved to and the name was changed to Kolej Tunku Kurshiah in honour of Tunku Kurshiah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin, the first Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong and also the Tunku Ampuan Besar or Queen of . The college was officially commenced by Almarhum Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tunku Munawir on May 24, 1963.

After having great achievements throughout 50 years, the day came for TKC to move to a new location. The new home for TKC is now situated in and it was officially opened for its first day of school in 2013. Today, being recently categorized as one of ’s National Flagship Schools by the Ministry of Education, Tunku Kurshiah College is one of the schools that offers a diploma programme.

4.2.7 All monies refundable under the conditions hereof shall be refunded free of interest and must be claimed by the student within one (1) year from the date the student ceases to be a student of the College, failing which the student consents and confirms that the College shall immediately and is hereby duly authorised to transfer the said monies into the College Improvement Fund, whereupon the student shall have no claim in respect of such monies whatsoever. The College shall be entitled to utilise such monies in the College Improvement Fund as the College deems fit.

4.2.8 Where a student has been withdrawn from the College and applies for re-admission, no registration fee will be payable if the student is readmitted (subject to availability of place) with three (3) academic terms from the date the student left the College, the Application Fee, re-entry fee, tuition fee, deposit and other fees payable, all at then prevailing rate, are required to be paid prior to such re-admission.
