Sébastien Loeb Earns Handsome Second Place in the Peugeot 208 WRX Submitted By: Peugeot Wednesday, 15 June 2016 Sébastien Loeb Earns Handsome Second Place In The Peugeot 208 WRX Submitted by: Peugeot Wednesday, 15 June 2016 Sébastien Loeb's excellent weekend at Mettet, Belgium, concluded with the Frenchman earning Team Peugeot Hansen's first podium finish of the season at Round 3 of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship. oSébastien Loeb provided further evidence of his all-round skills by claiming his first qualifying heat victory in the FIA World Rallycross Championship on Saturday. He was third after the heats phase before going on to secure second place both in his semi-final and in the final on Sunday afternoon. oTeam Peugeot Hansen leaves Belgium with the weekend's biggest points haul to climb to third spot in the Teams' standings, just six points short of second place. In the Drivers' standings, Sébastien Loeb is fourth, four points shy of the provisional podium, while Timmy Hansen secured fourth place in his semi-final to appear in 12th position in the championship. oThe weekend's third qualifying heat saw Davy Jeanney hurt his shoulder, a reoccurrence of the injury he sustained last season in Argentina. He still succeeded in lining up for the fourth heat, however, and he qualified for the semi-final stage when he was hit by another car through the opening turn. oMettet was also hosting the opening round of this year's European Rallycross Championship. Seventeen-year old Kevin Hansen celebrated his debut in the best fashion possible by winning the final in his Peugeot Hansen Academy PEUGEOT 208 WRX. QUOTE, UNQUOTE... Ekström made a flying start around the rollercoaster track in Norway. Transition theory emphasizes that development of sustainable technologies such as EVs can be achieved within niches, which are protective spaces that shield sustainable technologies from mainstream market selection pressures. An interesting environment that has generally been known for innovative developments with regard to mobility has recently seen an increased usage of EVs. This environment is the motorsport. This paper therefore aims to identify the role that the electric motorsport as niche plays in the development of EVs for a transition towards a more sustainable mobility system. In order to fulfil this aim, a qualitative research approach was used where both semi-structured interviews and grey literature was analysed. The electrification of certain categories of the FIA World Rallycross Championship as well as the Extreme E were selected to exemplify the entire electric motorsport. The protective space conceptualisation of Smith and Raven (2012) that focuses on shielding, nurturing and empowering processes was used to conduct the analysis and describe the electric motorsport as a niche. The analysis showed that the electric motorsport as niche shows great capabilities of making contributions towards the development of EVs, but currently is not utilised to this potential.

    News release 20.09.15 Petter’s best in Barcelona Norwegian superstar Petter Solberg celebrated victory at the maiden World RX of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today (Sunday). Petter’s no stranger to winning, but it’s been a pretty lean summer in terms of time on the top step for the two-time FIA World Champion. Which is why he was so pleased to land a first victory since World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill in May. That and the fact he didn’t let his son Oliver down… Solberg, who is 35 points clear at the top of the World RX table with three rounds remaining this season, said: “We have fought hard for this win the whole weekend. We’ve run a lot of different set-ups on the car – we had to really work at it to catch Peugeot. All the time, the 208 was taking tenths of seconds, but eventually the brilliant PSRX engineers worked it out. “My son won a crosskart race in Sweden today; I got the message by telephone and he was joking and being quite confident and cocky in telling me I couldn’t let the family down – I actually really felt the pressure from that! “In the end, I could call him back and be quite cocky back with him. I liked that! “Everything was going quite well from the start, but in the third heat, I touched the wall on the left side – there was loads of dust in the car and I really couldn’t see so well.
