Objective: To serve as Scout Executive for the Longhorn Council in Fort Worth, TX and use my unique energy, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit to provide every youth the opportunity to achieve success through . To assume the responsibility for strategic direction, tactical goal establishment, and operational execution of the Council. To ensure the Council operates within the Executive Board’s defined mission, vision, bylaws, regulations, and policies while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Background: Successful experiences in four Councils have led to top performance ratings and steady promotion opportunities to positions with increased responsibility. The ability to motivate people of various socio- economic backgrounds, have helped me achieve an excellent record of team performance, volunteer recruitment, membership growth, innovative fundraising, and creative /program delivery. An experienced professional with proven success in the BSA. My qualifications include being a sound fiscal manager/forecaster, a talented strategic thinker/planner and a strong communicator who can share the message of Scouting to every community we serve or seek to serve. Demonstrated ability of achieving high public visibility by using a variety of mediums including social media, marketing/public relations, and by securing a commitment and support from volunteer and staff teams.

Selected Achievements: • Consistently improved Council performance by recruiting, guiding, and inspiring Council Executive Board members, District/Unit Level volunteers and staff - human resources are truly our best asset • Have led teams to balance our Council’s operating budget for 10 consecutive years, seeing increases in FOS, grants/foundations, special event fundraising, popcorn sales and camp revenue among others • Successfully achieved membership growth in 7 of the last 10 years, including 3 years in a row as a Scout Executive • Implemented Join Scouting Night plans that include English and Spanish materials like a “Parents Orientation Guide, flyers and other paramount collateral materials to help appropriately welcome new leaders and families (especially those with no legacy in our program) to Cub Scouting • Relentlessly strived to reach underserved communities through by securing the necessary funds to deliver life-changing programs. These programs have included Scouting Specialists (Program Staff), camperships, uniforms, Scout handbooks, advancements, and registration fee assistance

Deputy Scout Executive, Bethesda, MD • January 2019 – Present • National Capital Area Council serves the District of Columbia, US Virgin Islands, 6 counties in Maryland and 10 counties in northern Virginia through 20 Districts and a Council staff of 62: including 38 professional staff, 13 Support Staff, 4 Camp Rangers and 7 Program Specialists • Achieved budget surplus of over $253,000 in 2019 through growth in Council generated contributions and managing expenses across multiple functional departments • Guided our team to year end membership growth in 2019 (1 of 13 Councils in the Northeast Region), overcoming the loss of LDS families in our program • Led the country with 80 female Scouts BSA Troops and 977 Scouts – 1,502 Cub Scouts in 241 Packs • Championed a total overhaul of the Scoutreach program. Recruited top tier committee and hired a full-time executive. Helped secure a $400,000 multi-year gift to support the program through 2022 • Earned the BSA National Chairman’s Diversity Gold Standard by recruiting 7 diverse executive board members – 3 improved diversity, 1 improved gender and 3 improved generational diversity

Scout Executive, El Paso, TX • May 2014 – December 2018 • Yucca Council serves 7 counties in West & Southern New Mexico through 6 Districts and a Council staff of 14: including 7 Professional Staff, 2 Support Staff and 5 Program Specialists • Balanced the Council’s Operating Budget every year with large surpluses every year due to increases in Council Generated Contributions and diligent management/control of expenses • In collaboration with a strongly committed Council Nominating Committee, transformed the diversity on the Executive Board by recruiting 11 Latino males and 3 females between 2014-2017 • Successfully guided our Council through the acquisition of an Urban Camp in 2015 and secured a commitment for $1.25M lead gift for the development of the property • Increased Special Event fundraising by 22% - added three new events and improved historical events • Strengthened Unidos Prosperamos (Scoutreach) program, which served 579 young people in 2018

Director of Field Service, Wichita, KS • April 2010 – May 2014 • Quivira Council served 30 counties in South Central and Southeastern Kansas through 6 Districts and a Council staff of 30: including 8 Field Staff and 7 Program Specialists • Grew total membership by 8.2%, through an improved Sign Up for Scouting Campaign • Serve as a member of the Council’s Executive Cabinet with administrative responsibilities including membership management, Friends of Scouting administration, and providing leadership to all staff • Helped balance the Council budget every year, through team productivity and expense management

Field Director, Amarillo, TX • November 2006 – April 2010 • served 56 communities in 27 counties in the Texas & panhandles through 6 Districts and a Council staff of 16: including 5 Field Staff and 1 Para-professional • Served on the Southern Region Professional Recruiting Team and the National Latino Literature Review Team in 2009 • Achieved the Quality Council Award and the Fiscally Sustainable Council Award from 2007-2010
