Golden Spread Council, Boy Scouts of America; Awards Logo Contest and Official Rules Introduction Consider this your compass to the Golden Spread Council, Boy Scouts of America brand/logo contest. Let’s set a course for success. Since 1921, Scouting in the Texas Panhandle has been a symbol of adventure, excitement, and achievement. Providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences that prepare the next generation of boys and girls for a lifetime of opportunity is serious business that couldn’t be more fun. Hiking, boating, rappelling on our COPE course, shooting sports, fishing, and many other outdoor activities have been enjoyed by thousands of area Scouts. Now creating a Golden Spread Council Brand/Logo can be a white-knuckle ride if you aren’t outfitted with the proper gear. Have no fear. The Golden Spread Council contains all the tools you need to craft and create a branding logo that GSC Scouts will want to hang on their bedroom walls. If trademarks, fonts, and usage standards are your camp kit, then this competition is just for you. So, Scout me in! Because together we’re blazing a trail into the future. This document describes the official rules (“Official Rules”) of the Golden Spread Council Award Logo Design Contest. The object of this contest is to design a logo for the Golden Spread Council(GSC). Information on how to enter and about the prizes is part of these Official Rules. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Official Rules prevail. Definitions “Entry” means a logo design created by the Entrant for this Contest.

Although many users may choose to only collect selected council items, The Council Guide aims to record all council insignia in order to present a more complete picture of a council’s issues. Furthermore, such a broad focus makes The Council Guide more than just another patch identification guide – The Council Guide is also a resource for individuals wishing to record and learn about the history of Scouting through its memorabilia. ORGANIZATION Since The Council Guide includes a wide variety of issues, made in different shapes and sizes and for different purposes, it can be difficult to catalog these issues in a consistent way.

Golden Spread Council Boy Scouts of America National Youth Leadership Training Sunday June 3 – Friday June 8, 2018 Camp MK Brown, Mobeetie, Texas What is it? The National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) 6-day program integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the scouting experience to train young men and women to better serve their units when placed in leadership positions. Youth registered with the Boy Scouts of America, are at least 13 years of age (and have completed the eight grade), have earned the rank of First Class (Boy Scouts only), and have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews, are eligible to participate. Here's a brief outline of what Scouts can expect to accomplish during this training: Day One: Communicating Well, Part I; Finding Your Vision, Part I. Day Two: Setting Your Goals; Preparing Your Plans. Day Three: Forming Your Team; Problem Solving; Leading EDGE Day Four: Teaching EDGE; Resolving Conflicts; Making Ethical Decisions. Day Five: Leading Yourself; Valuing People. Day Six: Finding Your Vision, Part II; Communicating Well, Part II; Creating A Future. Why? Leadership experiences can be frustrating and disappointing for a youth who lack the knowledge, skills and encouragement to fulfill their assignment. During NYLT, participants discover that leading themselves and others requires a vision--a picture of future success. Through presentations and positive experiences in goal setting, planning, and problem solving, participants learn how to set a clear course toward realizing their team and individual visions, and then how to visualize themselves in the center of those pictures of future success.
