4 To me “MISTICO”, A Filetta´s newest adventure and collaboration, was one of highlights. It is a sublime musical research between polyphonique singing, Daniele di Bonaventura´s earthy, but nonetheless more than traditional bandoneon sounds and Paolo Fresu´s fearless explorations and trumpet improvisations beyond the borders of jazz or any other style. Trying to categorize this concert would mean to domesticate it. It was near the state of the art of polyphonic singing, haunting, touching, inspired music, broadening the score of vocal music between traditional and contemporary. This project will be recorded in January next year. So all of you, who have missed it in Calvi, will get another chance to listen to it. Don’t miss it next time!

 Mazaher Structuring the local network, favouring professionalization, mobility and exchanges within and between the ACP and EU, structuring the economy of the sector, improving the local and international visibility of ACP professionals; these are the results to be expected of the various actions undertaken within this project.

By associating partners from different horizons, Anglophones, Francophones and Portuguese-speakers from regions in West, East and Central Africa as  Cali at Sakifo well as the Indian Ocean, Pacific and Caribbean,

this project is creating, supporting and consolidating exchanges and cooperation between these regions and the professionals grouped in a network.

Mercado Cultural da Bahia - 9th edition Salvador de Bahia, Brazil December 1 - 12, 2009

The Northeastern Brazilian Music Festival, which runs from December 1st - 12th, 2009 will open with a special presentation in Salvador, followed by a tour of the Bahian countryside. It will culminate in Bahia itself, where a full and varied program of music and festivities will take place. Each year Mercado Cultural has a central theme. In 2009, “...Passage...”.will be the motif and the IX Mercado Cultural throws itself through paths to Bahia’s countryside, contemplating cities from the Médio Rio de Contas. The journey taken throughout the region, with processes including youngsters and children as highlights, meeting with popular manifestations such as reisados, sambas de roda, bumbas-meu-boi, has been surprising. Since then, the desire to foster the exchanges between worldwide cultural productions and local cultural movements has been established. Musiccurator Benjamim Taubkin puts together a program of national and international artists from Spain, Guinea Bissau, Korea, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil bringing traditional and contemporary music. Next to that the festival organizes other activities such as artistic residence, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and theatre organized by the artistic director Ruy César. The music line up includes among other artists Narf (Spain/Galicia), Manecas Costa (Guine Bissau), Barca (Brazil), Juan Pablo Villa (Mexico), Sonagi Project (Korea) and Bongar (Brazil). The festival attracts as well a general audience, music professionals, such as journalists, promoters and agents.
