Only the Berlowitz quest for records was successful, in Poznan (formerly the province of Prussia). In both Rzeszow, and in Lesko at the city hall, there were no records of the families Finkelstein or Hertzig. We are all still dwelling on the sight of the stately Synagogue in Lesko, where my grandfather Nochim certainly davened. We ladies sat on the low wall on the outside of the Shul and were sure that Beile sat there with her two babies during services some 99 years ago.
