Short academic biography of Prof. Dr. Md. Shamsul Haque, Principal.

Dr. Md. Shamsul Haque is the Principal of , Malda. He was born and brought up in a village named Bairgachi, under the block and P.S.-Gazole in the district of Malda, . After Madhyamik (1974) he passed the PU from in 1975 and then graduated from under the University of North Bengal in 1979. He did his Masters in Bengali from North Bengal University (1981-1983), 1984. Thereafter he obtained his PhD degree working on “Mir Mosarraf Hossain O Bangla Sahitya” from the same university in 2003.

In 1985 he joined Sujapur High School, Malda as an Assistant Teacher, meanwhile he got appointment as S. I. of schools which he did not join. In 1989 he joined the Mathabhanga College, Coochbehar as a Lecturer in Bengali which he left in 1995 to join Raja Birendrachandra College of Commerce, Kandi, Murshidabad. Thereafter in 2001 he joined , Malda as Reader. He is presently working as principal, Gazole Mahavidyalaya, Malda Since 24th June, 2008.

He contributed much in all his previous Institutions and gained over all popularity among all faculties and students. Since his joining to newly established (2006-07) Gazole Mahavidyalaya he is giving much effort with dedication for the betterment of the college which is praiseworthy. He did a lot for the college to uplift it at the top of colleges under Gour Banga University both academically and in all round developmental activities.

Apart from the role as principal he has also played important role as member of the University Council of the during 2012-15. Now he is playing key roles as one of the member of the Court of the University of Gour Banga. It is worthy to mention that he played vital role as a member of examination committee U.G.B in implementation of away centre instead of home centre of the UG examinations of the University of Gour Banga and also in the modernization of examination system of the University.

Beyond academics and administrative jobs, he is also actively involved in the movement of principals for the greater interest of the society in the capacity of Secretary of the “All Bengal Principals Council (ABPC)” of the University of Gour Banga Unit since January, 2016.

His role in all spheres of academic and social platform is highly appreciable.
